[Music] hey everyone it's Logan here with a Lowdown from this week's city council meeting I have two project updates to give you tonight that we received at the city council meeting and so we'll do that right now first the city council received an update on the progress over at the lifetime Club on the northeast corner of akan and Highway 42 as folks have driven by you've seen lifetime is truly flying along and things are going really really well over there what the council approved was a change order to the project that was at the request of life time as a reminder the city's contribution to this project is locked at $21 million so any changes that lifetime chooses to make to the project is fully born by them as a corporation if you've driven by on the road you've seen the slide structures are up on the exterior pool pickle ball courts and fencing are happening outside and inside is really rocking and rolling with interior finishes indoor pools and Etc it's really a wonderful building that we can't wait to share with the community as it opens here in 2025 and end lifetime is still targeting a January 2025 opening date and the wait list is currently open so jump on that wait list if you're interested in joining lifetime next the city council received the September update for the public works and police department campus project happening over on biscane near St Jill's Catholic church again on this project if you've driven by you've seen rapid changes over the last few months interior finishes are rapidly progressing over at the public works and police campus so this is tile paint carpeting lighting and interior fixtures we reported to council that this project is still fully on time on schedule and on budget to that end again this is a $58 million project there's contingency remaining at this point in the project and even assuming that that full $1 million of contingency would be spent which we do not expect to do we expect that we'll be able to report to you at the end of this project that this project will end in the black which is really wonderful to report up next at the project office furniture is being installed over the next probably by mid October into mid November and then it's going to be final system testing to make sure that the building is ready for our Public Works and police Crews to occupy and uh we look forward again to getting the public inside that building likely in the spring for a large open house when the weather turns a little bit nicer in the spring of 2025 So to that end I always stay plugged in with the city find us on all of our socials along with YouTube for the full council meeting and we'll see you next time [Music]
