[Music] Hey everyone, it's Logan with the lowdown from this week's city council meeting. Three things to talk about this week and so we'll jump right into it. First, the city council recognized the retirement of firefighter Bruce Sward. Bruce has served the city of Rosemount for 22 years, responding to thousands of fire calls and donating hundreds and hundreds of hours in public safety, educational outreach to our students, churches, youth groups, and things of that nature. We so appreciate Bruce's service. He has a very unique story that he chose to talk about a little bit at the council meeting if you want to tune in. We also thank our families. is as fire chief Springer always reminds us, fire families are so important as they support the men and women of the fire department to leave home and serve our community when the fire call goes off. So, congrats to Bruce and thank you for your wonderful service. Another one of our favorite activities in October is the annual Halloween haunted trail. We are ready for our annual Halloween haunted trail this weekend and it's a wonderful event that all the kids I know, mine included, have come to love. So, make sure to come on out there. We've got 24 vendors setting up trick-or-treating stations. The kids, if you haven't done it, get to walk the trail in Central Park and get a very large bag of candy. So, make sure to come out on Saturday in all your awesome costumes from 600 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Reminder, for our third year in a row, we're partnering with MVTA for a park and ride shuttle. That shuttle launches from the Rosemont High School parking lot, and it's an easy, fun ride. They always dress up the buses in fun looks, too. The kids get to ride the bus, come to the to the event, and not have to worry about parking in Rosemont's busy downtown. Lastly, the city council accepted a bid for a Bonire Path trail extension. This is a really nice project that increases the safety of pedestrians along Bonire Path. What this does is adds a safe walking corridor on the south side of Bonire Path from Bikardi Avenue all the way down to Autumn Path. So, especially with the construction of Emerald Trail Elementary, this adds another great safe way to get kids heading towards school. Some utility location may occur yet this fall to prepare this for an early spring project that should be complete by next summer. As a reminder, this project will use the existing width of the Bonire Path roadway. There are some turn lanes in the center of Bonire Path that aren't needed at this time and so we're able to shrink up those roadways a bit and add the trail right there in the roaded of Bonire Path.
