[Music] hey everyone it's Logan here with the Lowdown from this week's city council meeting got three exciting things to talk about today and we'll dive right into it first we gave two approvals to some exciting Park developments at the city council meeting first the city council approved about a $230,000 change order to our pickle ball complex out on akan Avenue this change order will provide lighting to the roadway as you drive into the pickle ball complex and lights on the courts themselves these will be push button operated lights like you've seen at the Ericson Park Tennis Court complex that will go on for 1 hour after they are pushed and they will stop operating 15 minutes after the park closes good news on the pickle ball court project it should be open and operational by August for play yet this summer the city council also approved about a $535,000 extension to the Rosemount Greenway this is the Flint Hills segment of the Ros Mount Greenway which is north on akan Avenue at the Flint Hills Soccer Complex or the athletic complex up there on akan Avenue as I mentioned this is a $535,000 project $500,000 of the project is funded by our partners at Dakota County as Dakota County looks to continue to build out their Greenway infrastructure throughout the county ultimately this segment will allow folks to come out under the underpass that you've seen at akan Avenue connect down to the newly constructed shelter and playground equipment and also connect to other Trails heading southbound down akan Avenue ultimately Dakota county is established ing a Greenway Network that will allow folks to connect from Lebanon Hills and then all the way down through here the Flint Hills complex ultimately terminating to white tail Woods lastly our partners at the Rosemount Area Arts Council came to the city council to give their 2023 annual report rack had a wonderful 2023 putting on 238 events with over 7,000 folks in attendance rack always puts on a combination of paid and free events but again that number of 238 events put on by a volunteer at Arts Council is just a wonderful thing to see to put that on rack donated 9,000 hours which equates to about a $230,000 value in that labor so again rack is just a wonderful partner that we greatly appreciate here at the city of Rosemount so that's it from this week's city council meeting thanks for tuning in as always find all of our full length videos on YouTube and our social media channels and we'll see you next time [Music]
