[Music] hey everyone it's Logan here with the Lowdown from this week's city council meeting I've got two updates for you today and so we'll Dive Right In first city council gave approval to an amendment to the planned unit development for Omni Winery and Brewery down on biscan Avenue the amended PUD takes into account omni's desire to acquire the parcel just north of their existing Brewery the current residence would be demolished and uh in its place would be constructed a wine production space an event space and a Tasting Room the event space would host 250 people for weddings and events of that nature which is a really exciting addition to the community they reported at the council meeting how well the Rosemont Community has been treating them how busy they've been and so thanks for getting out and supporting this local business and it's paying off as we see Omni further investing and expanding here in Rosemount this project also received a business subsidy from the Port Authority this is a new program that was developed by the state of Minnesota after covid Omni received one of those grants from the port authority and really excited to see that put to work this week city council meeting had a number of donations that are worthy of shining a light on first um our safety Camp is one of our most popular events that our Parks and Recreation Department does where young people from Rose Mount get to learn about safe safe activities how to travel on the roads on bikes and fire safety and home safety things that it's really exciting program that happens on June 13th of this upcoming summer and registrations are open now on our our park recreation website to support safety camp we got a couple donations accepted last night from Minnesota energy resources and for State Bank we want to thank those folks for those donations secondly our Police Department often receives very generous donations and last night was once again a symbol of that we received a $1,000 Anonymous donation for officer wellness and supporting our officer Wellness initiatives in appreciation of that work and certainly did not need to do this he he decided to donate $1,000 to our Rosemont Poli department for officer wellness and so we greatly appreciate that donation that'll be put to good use in our officer Wellness programming the city council also accepted last night a $10,000 Anonymous donation to The Rosemount Police Department in support of the finalization of our officer can9 program which is just about to be launched and is a really exciting program so staff has selected a trainer for the dog gentleman out of Wisconsin who trains police dogs and has a deep resume of training dogs for the FBI the Secret Service and we'll go through the process now of selecting our dog selecting our dog handler one thing to note this will be a NOS workk dog and not a bite dog and so this will be more of a black lab type of a dog so really exciting dog for both the NOS workk side of it and Community engagement side of it so that's it from this week's city council meeting thanks again to the Rosemount Community for your continued generosity and your support of our local businesses you see that come to fruition in the things I just talked about so a great Community as always have a great week everybody we'll see you next time
