[Music] I've been really excited about um the student serving on the board I have the honor um to do a swearing in ceremony all right opening up that communication I just think makes for a stronger community and District as a whole I applied to be the student rep because I know some kids don't get to um share their voices I really want it to be that voice that people can talk to me it has actually fostered some greater communication between the board and the principles in the school and the student body themselves I had updates on the school and our activities like especially with our student life and being at school really helps bringing that information to them I think we make all of our decisions based on what's right for you as students and I think sometimes us adults know better the impact of the decisions we're making when we can hear directly from you feel that I was heard about my opinions even like superintendent Dr Zan bro would ask me oh like since you are at the school what do you think about it one of our hopes from the board is that students feel really empowered to also reach out to other students Beyond just their own friend group but really be a great representative of the student body as a whole I know a lot of IV students want the ability to have more access into a different electives I think they really care about what information you really bring from the school so they can provide it and make changes be open to learning new things to finding new things to talk about or learn about cuz it's really interesting
