The Lakeville City Council announced a shoe collection event timed to America Recycles Day, giving residents a chance to donate or recycle used footwear and reduce waste in the community.

Lakeville residents will soon have an easy way to responsibly dispose of old shoes. The city announced a shoe collection event running November 11th through 18th, coinciding with America Recycles Day on November 15th.

Drop-off bins will be located at City Hall during the collection period. The program aims to keep used shoes out of landfills by sorting them into two categories: shoes in good condition will be donated to those in need, while worn or damaged shoes will be recycled into new materials.
