The Omar B Omar Banderude Award is a Bloomington unique award recognizing outstanding human rights work within the city of Bloomington.

Normandale Community College Equity and Inclusion team is being honored for their long enduring work to create a college culture that is culturally culturally competent and serviceoriented.

the current climate around the work that we do is is being challenged, right? Is being um you know, some places dismantled and things like that. And so to have this recognition, this award um is really that that push we need when the times get tough to continue to work, to continue to fight because it it's not only uh important, but it's necessary.

Unidos Minnesota is being honored for their contributions to advancing and protecting the human rights of motans... Most pressing right now and so incredibly timely tonight, is the work that Unidos is doing to educate community members regarding their legal constitutional rights within the context of federal ICE raids that have been occurring in Minnesota, even right here in Bloomington.

Our mission is simple but powerful to build a Minnesota where every family can live with dignity, safety, and opportunity.

Whereas the city of Bloomington joins nations in the world in recognizing December 10th, 2025 as Human Rights Day. And whereas through this year's theme of human rights, our everyday essentials, we're reminded that human rights are the fundamentals that unite us all.

As members of this community, honoring our shared humanity is a vital part of continuing to assure that Bloomington is a place we're happy to call home.

what I'm requesting is a detailed information on where that money is being spent, how it's being spent and who are the people that getting the assistance to that to to that uh amount of uh funds that you know to again I have requested it and I never got it.

I know that on starting on page 105 of tonight's packet, it is publicly available to all information. So, I can show you that if you'd like, but but it it's literally a program broken down by account code. It's that specific.

I will move that we lay this over until our next council meeting and at that time

more than half of the overall budget increase is tied to public safety.

my taxes have gone up between three and 6% over the last five years. I am going to pay more than 10% this year. It almost seems like you guys are trying to get me out.

That's a $60,000 increase in four years. As a small business, that's untenable. I will tell you, we actually have a search committee out looking at other locations outside of the city.

I have a question for you guys is how much money is given away to NOS's that city of Bloomington gives away... If us paying our property taxes are having a hard time staying in our houses because we can't afford our property taxes, why is the city and county giving away all this money to other community or organizations that need it?

the way that the city was developed originally is financially unsustainable because they didn't look forward to these regrowth periods where a bunch of themes need replacing.

I simply wanted to call in and I'll be very brief. I just wanted to say that in my personal experience I think that people who are satisfied with how things are tend not to speak up. Um and I know I'm not the only one who is satisfied with the way things are.

We take it very seriously. It's not uh it's not bubble living. It's it's we are part of this community as well. So we feel the impact as well and uh we feel the impact of of cost increases and we would uh also feel the impact of of service cuts just like all of us would.

This document is a planning tool. Um it is based off a long year uh projections. These are a 10-year plan. It has items that are 50,000 and greater... just because it is within this document, there is no guarantee that the project will move forward.

one of the large projects here um you know we have the surface transportation we have city facilities um the port and H are also within this the next two years. Um just pointing out the large dark navy fees in that first bar um is in the South Loop Port Authority and that dark bar that represents 75 million for the Mall of America Water Parking lot.
