[0:20] - Not only do we operate and plow snow with plow trucks, [0:23] and sometimes when there's a lot of snow, [0:25] like on bridge decks and stuff, we gotta remove that. [0:28] So we use a motor grader for that. [0:30] Skid loaders, it's quite a big operation. [0:32] We got a big snowblower that we use for that too. [0:35] Not only do we operate, [0:37] but we have to maintain our equipment too as well. [0:40] This wing here as it sits, [0:42] is actually loose hanging on the crane, [0:44] but it's gotta go on the truck. [0:45] So we're gonna mount that soon. [0:47] Everything on here, these cutting edges, [0:49] they're all replaceable. [0:50] It's actually rubber coating here, [0:51] so it works really well on the roads. [0:53] Where it kind of squeegees off all the slop and the snow. [0:57] This here too, is replaceable. [0:59] It's called curb guard, and we make this in-house. [1:02] Our mechanics in the garage are really good [1:04] and they weld this together for us, [1:06] and we replace this as needed. [1:08] So right now we're reinstalling this wing. [1:10] We had to take it off. [1:11] Sometimes we use the trucks to haul wood chips [1:14] and street sweepings. [1:17] out of town. Yhere's an attachment point. [1:22] Attachment point up front here, [1:24] there's a big pin that slides in there. [1:26] And then also there's a cylinder hanging on the wing there [1:29] that'll get attached right here. [1:31] So it's relatively simple to put these wings on [1:34] or take 'em on and off the trucks. [1:36] - This is about our fourth season. [1:38] We've been using heated wiper blades. [1:39] They come in really handy, either [1:42] for plowing while it's still snowing, [1:44] or if there's fresh snow and it comes over the front plows [1:47] and it comes onto the windshield, [1:49] it'll freeze the wiper blades up. [1:51] It'll stiffen 'em up and they won't clean. [1:53] So these wiper blades that we've been using [1:55] for a few years now, they have temp sensors in 'em, [1:59] and once it gets so cold, the heating element turns on [2:02] and melts the snow and ice on 'em. [2:04] So they're flexible [2:05] and they clean the windshield really good. [2:07] And then here you can see a set of 'em [2:10] that are actually installed on a truck. [2:13] They work great. We've installed them on all our plow [2:15] trucks, and they've been really been a lifesaver. [2:19] So these wings mounted on the side of the trucks, they're [2:22] between nine and 12 feet long. [2:24] And when it's dark out, when we do the majority [2:26] of our plowing, it's very hard to see. [2:28] So we've added spotlights [2:31] so we can see the plow when we're looking out our mirror. [2:34] And then around back, we have two spinners [2:37] that throw the salt out, [2:38] and it's hard to see at night if there's salt coming out. [2:42] So we've added lights here too, that light up the spinners [2:46] that we can see in our rear view mirrors. [2:48] And also the last few yea…
