Hello, Bloomington Public Schoolscommunity. I'm School Board chair Matt Dymoke. Hey Chair Dymoke, and hello everybody.I'm Superintendent Eric Melbye. We'd like to share a couple of highlightsfrom the September 22 business meeting. We started with swearing-in our new student school board representatives, Jeffersonjunior Elsa Ackerman and Kennedy senior Samia Mohamud will be joining usas the school board representatives at the table this year. We're super excited to have these studentsrepresenting our student body and look forward to the workthat they can do. So great having the students at the table. A big chunk of our meeting was sharingwith the board and with the public all the summer programmingthat we do at BPS. So we highlighted last summer basically. So we have things like over 700 kidshere at the Oak Grove campuses doing Summer Quest. We have musical theater work happeningwith middle schools and high schools. We've got our summer high schoolcredit recovery work going on where kids can make up creditsif they're behind. We've got more than 500 kidstook part in Camp SAFARI, our Office of Educational Equity had great experiences for studentsthroughout the summer. And all that stuff. And swimming lessons if you need them. So, I just wanted to share that becauseit's a fun thing to share, number one. But number two, it's great to alreadystart thinking about next summer and what experiences your student mightbe able to participate in. And speaking of next summer, the board approved graduation dates for this upcoming year,so our seniors will celebrate graduation on Friday,June 5, with Kennedy at 2 p.m. and Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. in our new venue at U.S. Bank Stadium. Yeah, superexciting to be in a new venue next year. And we also have begunour legislative advocacy work. So on Monday night, we approved the Minnesota School BoardAssociation's resolution to direct MDE to create a pilot programfor remote testing for our students who are in an accredited online programlike New Code Academy. So, looking forward to the work that we can do this yearwith legislative advocacy. Fun fact, sometimes we have to send folksas far away as International Falls to proctor testsfor our New Code Academy students. So, that would be greatif we can get that change made.
