[0:22] The city's new city manager, Zach Walker [0:25] was sworn in at the October 20th City Council meeting. [0:28] Certainly very exciting and very humbling to step into this role [0:32] and to be part of such a wonderful community [0:34] and to build upon the success that you've all had. [0:37] Prior to the City of Bloomington, [0:38] Mr. Walker served as the city manager [0:41] of Independence Missouri, a city of 120,000 people. [0:45] He has nearly two decades of local government leadership experience. [0:49] Celebrate a BIG grand opening on November 8th. [0:52] Come experience the newly renovated Bloomington Ice Garden from noon to five. [0:57] The event is open to the public and has a number of family friendly activities, [1:01] including admission to the first two games on the new high school rink, [1:05] open skating, a photo booth and selfie station near local artist Adam Terman, [1:10] spectacular new entry vestibule mural and so much more. [1:14] Staff tours will also be available [1:16] to check out all of the upgrades, including a new lounge area, [1:19] upgraded rinks and seating, and ADA accessibility improvements, to name a few.
