[0:00] ♪ Everything we do today will be tomorrow's news ♪ [0:04] ♪ Yeah ♪ [0:05] - I'm Tyson Insixiengmai [0:06] and I'm from Bloomington, Minnesota. [0:08] I'm a professional actor [0:09] and choreographer in the Twin Cities. [0:11] I grew up in West Bloomington. [0:13] I lived in a cul-de-sac by Ridgeview Elementary. [0:19] That's where I went for elementary school. [0:21] And then I went to Olson Middle School, [0:23] and then I went to Jefferson High School. [0:25] I did student government, [0:26] and I also did four years of show choir at Jefferson. [0:30] I've always loved performing. [0:34] I was in the Angelica Cantanti choirs for four years. [0:38] It was a great place to surround myself [0:41] with like-minded people who wanted to sing like me. [0:44] I was part of the Kid Safari program [0:46] that happens before and after schools in Bloomington, [0:49] and my coworker said that there was an audition [0:52] at Chanhassen Dinner Theaters. [0:53] And then I got called to be booked [0:57] for the next year of "Footloose" at Chanhassen. [1:01] And then from there I performed [1:03] in "The Prom" and "The Jersey Boys." [1:05] And then I auditioned and booked "Newsies" at Artistry. [1:10] Now I'm here at the Children's Theater [1:12] doing choreography for "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." [1:15] And also I'm choreographing at North St. Paul High School [1:17] for the production of "Anastasia." [1:19] All right, okay, high five the partner next to you. [1:22] So I'm assistant choreographing for the Grinch here at CTC. [1:26] It's been a really fun time working alongside Kelly Foster [1:31] as she's the choreographer for this show. [1:33] And to be with Dean Holt as the director. [1:36] I've always had a knack for just like coming up [1:40] with a random move or dance move. [1:42] I think what really drives my passion of dancing [1:47] is the storytelling that comes with it, [1:49] because within the story that we tell with our bodies [1:52] and with each other, it can make us feel a certain way. [1:57] And I feel like that's what makes a performance memorable. [2:02] When I found out that I was on the list, [2:04] I was incredibly floored [2:06] and grateful at the same time. [2:09] And I opened it up and it was my face on the newspaper [2:13] with all the other talented folks in the city. [2:17] It was so cool. [2:18] And also it felt nice to be recognized [2:23] for the things that I've done in the past three years, [2:26] two and a half years now, [2:28] and it amps up the fire in me [2:31] that there's gonna be more to come. [2:33] Growing up with such a supportive community like Bloomington [2:36] that prioritizes the arts for kids of all ages [2:39] is one of the big reasons [2:40] why I'm a professional artist today.
