Hello, Bloomington Public Schoolscommunity. I'm School Board Chair Matt Dymoke. And I'm Superintendent Eric Melbye. And we have some updates to sharefrom the November 24th business meeting. The 2025 enrollment report was presentedrepresenting the official enrollment numbersas of October 1st. Although K-12 enrollment decreasedcompared to last year, we are pleased that our enrollmentis slightly higher than our projections. Total enrollment, including earlychildhood programs all the way through our programsthat serve students aged 18 to 22 is 10,482 students. Our kindergarten enrollment is lowerthan I would like it to be and has been trending downwardfor a little while, so we're going to be workinghard on Operation Enrollment and making sure our families understandhow great our kindergarten programsare for our students. And to do that,we're going to partner with CEL. So the board approved a contractlast night for CEL to come in and help with the marketing portionof our enrollment efforts. And so we're excited to utilizethat their expertise and really move forward and help growthose kindergarten numbers moving forward. The board also approved new membersto the Bloomington Public Schools Advocacy Council, BPSAC, Laurel Needham, along with studentschool board representatives Elsa Ackerman and Samia Mohamud will join the council to provide feedbackon the board's legislative platform, advocate for Bloomington Public Schoolsand help with the district Strategic Plan. We also heard an updatefrom our middle school theater programs across the district. And so this year, for the first time, all three middle schools had a fallproduction. CATS here at Oak Grove, Myth-Understoodat Olson and Peter Pan at Valley View. So it's excitingto see all of the exciting things that are happeningacross our theater programs. And I'm excited to see whatthe spring productions will be as well. You know, middle school theaterhas really grown here in Bloomington. And this past summer, they also had a production of Jamesand the Giant Peach, which featured students fromseven of our schools across the district. So lots of great thingshappening in the theater world. So great. We have so many talented students performing in theater, bandand choir programs throughout the year. We do have a performing arts calendaron the news section of our BPS website, and we invite you to catch a showand support our hardworking students.
