[0:00] We can go from assigning people to paint rooms to carpet, [0:04] to repair air conditioners, it is never the same thing every day. [0:09] My name is Scott Anderson. [0:10] I'm the facility's maintenance supervisor. [0:13] I have been since 2008. [0:15] At one time, I was one of three Scott Anderson's that worked at the city. [0:19] We still have two. Our middle initials are very important. [0:22] In my current position, I am in charge of 11 team members [0:25] who take care of the physical structure of, six main buildings, seven [0:30] fire stations, and 20 plus park buildings that we maintain throughout the year. [0:36] I started working at the cemetery. [0:37] summer of 85, [0:38] I started to run the city garbage truck when we used to do our own pickups. [0:42] On October 1st was my 40th year with the city. [0:45] It was kind of a unique time because I was married on September 28th. [0:48] We went on a one day honeymoon, [0:50] and then I started full time with the city and have been here ever since. [0:54] When I started here, [0:55] we had an older gentleman that had done blocklaying, [0:58] bricklaying and concrete work. And he kind of took me under his wing. [1:02] And we actually built, [1:03] in our fleet garage, the suite of offices and mezzanine level and stuff. [1:07] We had all the slabs, poured [1:09] all the concrete to make this a, functioning and operational, fleet garage. [1:13] I’m three minutes away from work. [1:15] It's fun too when your family says [1:17] my dad takes care of that building. [1:18] he did work on that one over there. [1:20] My proudest moment probably is when we were doing a walkthrough [1:24] with outside architects that came into City Hall [1:27] and they said, wow, this building is new. [1:29] And I said, well, no, it's 20 years old. [1:31] And they said, wow, you guys have done a great job taking care of it. [1:34] And it's like, well, then I have assigned the right people to take care of it. [1:37] And they keep the place looking good. [1:39] And that was probably one of my proudest moments.
