[0:00] [Applause] [0:03] [Music] [0:03] [Applause] [0:05] [Music] [0:05] [Applause] [0:08] [Music] [0:11] [Applause] [0:13] [Music] [0:16] welcome to Bloomington today I'm Emily [0:18] taplan thanks for joining us first we [0:20] bring you the Buzz for the weeks of July [0:22] 18th through the 30th the top 10 [0:25] finalists for hatch Bloomington have [0:26] been announced in June the 25 [0:30] semi-finalists made their pitches to a [0:32] panel of Judges who narrowed it down to [0:34] the top 10 those contestants include [0:37] Arbor furniture Bloomington greens [0:40] Coastal coolers disinvested youth gaming [0:43] initiative indoor dog Fitness calone [0:47] Nuna scrambling egg the Arts creative [0:50] and the jump hatch Bloomington is a [0:52] partnership between the city of [0:53] Bloomington and Minneapolis Regional [0:55] Chamber that offers entrepreneurs the [0:58] opportunity to pitch their business [1:00] ideas for a chance of receiving [1:02] $100,000 in financial assistance to [1:05] Kickstart their brick-and-mortar [1:06] business in Bloomington the top 10 will [1:09] be pitching their ideas at Bloomington [1:11] Civic Plaza on July 29th from 6:00 to [1:14] 9:00 p.m. that event is open to the [1:17] public community members will be able to [1:19] vote for the business they want to see [1:21] in Bloomington after the July 29th [1:24] pitches the text to vote system will be [1:26] open through August 5th to read business [1:29] descriptions in in full and stay posted [1:31] on all updates visit hatch [1:33] bloomington.com the city welcomes tkda [1:37] to Bloomington the engineering and [1:39] Architecture Firm is moving its [1:41] headquarters from St Paul to the former [1:43] office building of seridian located in [1:45] the South Loop on July 9th tkda hosted [1:49] an open house for its employees to visit [1:51] prior to renovating the 8700 squ feet of [1:54] office space the company will be [1:56] bringing about 300 employees to [1:58] Bloomington and hope to be there around [2:00] March of 2025 we're really excited to be [2:03] here um we did a lot of searching we [2:05] went through a very rigorous process [2:08] both Bloomington and this building the [2:11] neighborhood the South Loop I mean it [2:13] just seems like a really natural fit and [2:16] we're really looking forward to a bright [2:19] future here Bloomington is really on a [2:21] role right now for business expansion [2:23] and growth and development in addition [2:26] to tkda right here in the South Loop we [2:28] know that Poler is going to be adding [2:29] employ [2:30] sick Industries is going to be adding [2:32] employees we we know there's so much [2:34] going on it's interesting that people [2:36] are looking to Bloomington as a place to [2:37] grow and expand right now and I think it [2:39] has to do with obviously our [2:41] transportation system our great [2:42] Workforce but also I think the welcoming [2:45] environment here in the community we are [2:46] rolling out the red carpet as you can [2:48] see here today we are very welcoming and [2:50] want people to feel at home tkda says [2:53] the new location will provide easy [2:55] access to MSP in support of work they [2:58] already do there and the company travel [3:00] requirements as it expands [3:02] geographically the location also [3:04] highlights the natural amenities [3:06] Bloomington has to offer with an [3:08] overview of the Minnesota Valley [3:09] National Wildlife Refuge share your [3:13] ideas for the future of a beloved [3:15] Bloomington Park the help plan Moyer [3:17] Park event is happening Wednesday August [3:19] 7th from 5: to 7:00 p.m. it will take [3:22] place at the moyer Park picnic shelter [3:25] the city is seeking input on amenities [3:27] and other improvements as part of the 9M [3:29] Creek Corridor renewal project meet with [3:31] City staff and consultants and provide [3:34] your ideas to help develop Park concept [3:36] plans for further Community review and [3:39] feedback home energy has an impact on [3:42] Comfort health and budget join [3:44] Bloomington sustainability staff to hear [3:46] from local experts about home Energy [3:48] Efficiency electrification and solar the [3:51] home energy Workshop is happening on [3:53] Wednesday July 31st from 6:30 to 8:00 [3:56] p.m. at Civic Plaza to register ahead [3:58] and learn more visit the link on your [4:00] screen that is the buzz on Bloomington [4:03] today for the weeks of July 18th through [4:05] the 30th if you would like to watch [4:07] other stories from the show go to this [4:08] week's playlist get a behind the scenes [4:10] look at the choreography of Newsies plus [4:13] hear from two Bloomington residents who [4:15] have found work they're passionate about [4:17] through the older adult job fair thanks [4:19] for watching
