[0:10] (uplifting music) [0:21] Maybe 70, 80% of our calls are actually EMS. [0:24] Part of EMS, emergency medical services, [0:27] is helping people in a time of need. [0:29] What we're gonna demonstrate for you here today [0:31] is one of our newest pieces of equipment, [0:33] is it's called a stair chair, [0:34] and we're gonna demonstrate this for you here today. [0:36] We're in a stairwell, obviously. [0:37] Alec is our patient sitting in the stair chair. [0:40] We're getting them buckled in. [0:42] So this stair chair is powered. [0:44] The tracks on here are what is powered. [0:47] So they will do the heavy lifting here instead of us. [0:49] Once we're all buckled in now, [0:51] we can move towards the stairs, [0:54] and we have the chair all positioned accordingly. [0:58] And then once we hit the stairs, [0:59] Rodney's gonna pull out his handles. [1:01] We're gonna tilt it back. [1:02] It should take us up. [1:04] (stair chair whirring) [1:07] With our other stair chairs, they're manual, [1:08] so someone in front, someone in the back, [1:11] and we are physically lifting this person [1:14] most of the way up the stairs or down the stairs. [1:17] With this powered chair, [1:18] it's gonna save a lot on our backs, and necks, [1:21] and all kinds of things, [1:23] being that a lot of our calls are EMS calls [1:25] and we're doing this quite frequently.
