[0:00] Today we're at East Marsh Lake Park north of  the ice gardens. There's a very nice patch of   [0:04] wild geranium out here all throughout the trail  system. It's one of the most showy natives you can   [0:10] find in the woods this time of year. It's got five  petals, they're purplish-pink, light purple. Grows to   [0:16] be about a foot, 2 ft high. They'll grow solitary  or they'll grow in bunches. Also known as cranes   [0:22] bill due to the seed head it creates, looks like  the bill of a crane and when it dries out, what it   [0:28] does, is it shoots seeds around so it has a unique  way of seed dispersal. It's a good plant for early   [0:34] pollinators coming out of winter dormancy and  looking for some food, so it's very beneficial   [0:39] in that aspect. If you are going to go out and  search for wild geranium, tread lightly. They do   [0:43] grow in undisturbed areas. Please stay on the trail  and try not disturb the native land around you.
