[music] Hello and thanks for tuning in to Bloomington Today. Let's take a look at the latest news in Bloomington. >> I, Danielle Robertson, do solemnly swear. At the January 5th meeting, Danielle Robertson was sworn in as Bloomington City Council member. In the November 2025 election, residents elected her to the ATL large seat for a 4-year term. Danielle is an attorney and community steward who ran on a platform of inclusion, collaboration, and service. I'm extremely honored to be sitting here um and to have earned the vote of so many people in Bloomington. Um and I'm really really excited to be able to do the most good for the most people. Um, Bloomington is a wonderful community and I just cannot say enough good things. Um, and I am touched that I get to be sitting here. >> Sitting council members Shawn Nelson and Dwayne Lman were also sworn in after reelection last fall. The city is seeking applicants for this year's Pioneers and Changemakers profiles. The profile series was introduced by the city in 2021 and features local black leaders whose courage, vision, and dedication have opened doors and pushed boundaries. It honors those who have advanced civil rights and worked to remove barriers in faith, education, law, housing, government, and beyond. Help us shine a light on these trailblazers and nominate a community member you know whose leadership, service, or advocacy has created meaningful change. Nominations are being accepted now through January 30th at blm.n/changemakers. The city's housing and redevelopment authority has opened its weight list for affordable housing opportunities at the new Roslin Apartments. The apartments are located at 700 American Boulevard West and are a 55 plus community opening this spring. There are eight one-bedroom apartment units available for those eligible through the housing choice voucher program. Online applications are open through February 6th.
