Bloomington seeks public input on new health and wellness center
The Bloomington City Council highlighted three major community initiatives during its February 5 meeting, including a public design review for a planned Community Health and Wellness Center and ongoing support programs for small businesses and winter recreation.
Architects and city staff have drafted designs for a new Community Health and Wellness Center and are inviting residents to review and comment on the plans. The public can view the draft design in person on Saturday, February 8th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the blackbox theater in Bloomington Civic Plaza, or provide feedback online at Bloomingtonforward.org.
In a separate initiative, the city continues its partnership with Launch Minnesota to support entrepreneurs through a program called Welcoming Wednesdays. The free monthly open houses, which have been running since 2023, connect startup founders and small business owners with experts and resources available across Minnesota. The next session is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th from noon to 2 p.m. at Civic Plaza. No registration is required to attend.
The city also highlighted its 21st annual Winter Fete, a series of indoor and outdoor activities organized by Bloomington Parks and Recreation. The program is designed to keep residents active during the winter months and includes events such as winter playday, open skating, and introduction to ice fishing classes. More details about Winter Fete activities are available through the city's website.
