[0:24] there were three the final three hatch

[0:27] Bloomington contestants have been

[0:28] announced Cal son Nuna and scrambling

[0:32] egg will move on to the final round of

[0:34] the hatch Bloomington business pitch

[0:36] competition the top 10 pitched their

[0:38] ideas on July 29th and public voting was

[0:41] open through August 4th hatch

[0:44] Bloomington is a partnership between the

[0:46] city of Bloomington and Minneapolis

[0:47] Regional Chamber that offers

[0:49] entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch

[0:51] their business ideas for a chance of

[0:54] receiving

[0:55] $100,000 in financial assistance to

[0:57] Kickstart their brick-and-mortar

[0:58] business in blue inton you're invited to

[1:01] the final pitch round on Thursday August

[1:04] 22nd starting at 6: p.m. at Bloomington

[1:06] Civic Plaza public voting will be open

[1:09] after that and the winner of the contest

[1:11] will be announced in early September to

[1:13] learn more about the final three visit

[1:19] input and city council approval

[1:21] Bloomington has updated speed limits

[1:24] local and neighborhood streets speed

[1:25] limits are now 25 mph posted speed

[1:29] limits are now 25 mph posted speed

[1:31] limits on larger roadways were also

[1:34] updated and Vary from 25 to 35 mph a

[1:37] speed limit of 20 mph for the following

[1:40] school zones are currently being

[1:42] finalized popler Bridge Elementary Olsen

[1:45] middle and elementary schools and

[1:46] Jefferson High School and Oak grve

[1:49] elementary and middle schools for more

[2:02] between now and 2040 there will be an

[2:04] estimated $40 million needed in City

[2:07] sanitary sewer improvements to meet

[2:09] capacity demand of Redevelopment

[2:11] throughout Bloomington the city wants

[2:27] sustainability staff recently hosted the

[2:30] home energy Workshop featuring local

[2:32] experts who shared information about

[2:34] home Energy Efficiency electrification

[2:37] and solar residential makes up a

[2:39] significant part of our greenhouse gas

[2:42] emissions from energy use which is the

[2:45] number one source of carbon pollution in

[2:48] the city so thinking about climate

[2:50] change from an environmental standpoint

[2:52] this is something that we are really

[2:54] interested in in seeing how we can save

[2:57] energy to watch these informative

[2:59] presentations in full visit blmm and/

[3:02] enery planning and engagement for

[3:04] bloomington's new Community Health and

[3:06] Wellness Center continues to move

[3:08] forward the city in partnership with hga

[3:10] Architects recently met with Junior

[3:12] counselors from Camp Kota to understand

[3:15] what teens would like to see in the new

[3:17] facility a lot of the ways that we

[3:19] engage with people traditionally whether

[3:20] it's surveys or you know City Council

[3:22] meetings and things like this um are not

[3:25] things that you know 14-year-olds are

[3:27] going to be going to or interested in uh

[3:29] but they again you know really are the

[3:31] people who are going to be using the

[3:32] space not just now but into the future

[3:35] um as you know citizens of Bloomington

[3:37] we really want to create like a

[3:38] welcoming environment um where everybody

[3:41] can feel included and has something

[3:43] that's like their specialty that they

[3:44] can do this was just one of many

[3:47] Community engagement opportunities for

[3:49] the Community Health and Wellness Center

[3:51] to stay up to-date on all future events

[4:05] linkup is happening at the Valley View

[4:13] School District resources and build

[4:15] community there will be food trucks free

[4:17] activities and entertainment like face

[4:19] painting lawn games stage performances a

[4:22] mascot race and more learning linkup is

[4:25] a partnership between the city of

[4:26] Bloomington and Bloomington Public

[4:28] Schools the sign signature Bloomington

[4:30] Center for the Arts mural is getting a

[4:32] refresh if you drive by Civic Plaza in

[4:34] the next month or so you might notice

[4:36] scaffolding at the corner of West 998th

[4:39] Street and James Avenue South the

[4:41] creating together mural was done by

[4:43] artist Eric Pearson in 2007 and has

[4:46] weathered in its 17 years Eric has been

[4:49] invited back to reinvigorate the mural

[4:51] to its original Glory the process will

[4:53] take approximately 1 month to complete
