[0:22] all families with little ones the Early

[0:24] Childhood Expo is happening on Saturday

[0:26] April 26th the city Bloomington Public

[0:29] Schools and Henipin Health are hosting

[0:31] the expo and will provide educational

[0:33] resources health information and family

[0:36] fun it's from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m at

[0:39] Civic Plaza the fun and resource-packed

[0:42] event is designed to support families

[0:44] with children 5 and under there will be

[0:46] 34 exhibitors and nine breakout sessions

[0:48] offering expert tips for parents and

[0:51] caregivers and two musical entertainment

[0:53] bands there will also be a baby gear

[0:56] swap where you can find and donate

[0:58] treasures for kids 2 years and younger

[1:06] Bloomington Parks and Recreation parks

[1:08] and Recreation offers naturalistled

[1:11] programs at parks and nature areas

[1:13] around Bloomington programs take place

[1:15] on select Saturdays and Sundays each

[1:19] experiences for all ages upcoming topics

[1:23] include things like true color of

[1:24] flowers creatures of the marsh and from

[1:27] seed to sprout most of the programs are

[1:29] drop in and free to attend for a full

[1:32] list of dates times and topics visit the

[1:36] helicopters and drones as the

[1:38] Metropolitan Mosquito Control District

[1:40] takes preventative measures to reduce

[1:42] the summer onslaught of nuisance and

[1:44] disease carrying mosquitoes in the Twin

[1:46] Cities 2025 is the first year drones

[1:48] have been used to treat mosquito larvae

[1:50] in standing water to learn more about

[1:53] their process and schedule visit

[1:59] learning and community with Bloomington

[2:01] Public Works and Police both the public

[2:04] works and police department open houses

[2:06] are happening on Saturday May 17th start

[2:09] your morning at public works from 9:00

[2:10] a.m to noon experience all of the

[2:12] equipment and tools that keep

[2:14] Bloomington running then head on over to

[2:16] the police department from 11:00 am to 2

[2:18] pm meet officers get a tour of the

[2:21] building see a number of demonstrations

[2:23] including the K9 unit and so much more

[2:25] both events are free to attend and offer

[2:27] a unique opportunity to engage with

[2:30] people who serve our community every day

[2:32] normandale Community College is

[2:34] celebrating culture and connection at an

[2:36] upcoming event the Asian-American Native

[2:38] Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage

[2:40] Celebration is Wednesday April 30th from

[2:43] 2 to 6 PM at Normandale the event will

[2:46] be held at several locations on campus

[2:48] including the beautiful Japanese garden

[2:50] it's hosted in partnership with the

[2:52] Normandale Asian Cultural Student Club

[2:54] Friends of the Japanese Garden and City

[2:57] of Bloomington there will be a Japanese

[2:59] tea ceremony live performances food

[3:01] trucks a fashion show and so much more

[3:04] admission is free and open to the public
