The City of Bloomington received recognition as one of Minnesota's top workplaces for 2025 by the Star Tribune, marking the first time the city has earned this distinction. The evaluation was based on feedback from an employee survey that included more than 149,000 employees across over 5,000 invited organizations.

The city's 2025 National Community Survey is currently underway, with residents able to participate through June 24. The survey, developed by the National Research Center, provides a statistically reliable assessment of how residents view the city's livability, services and overall quality of life. The final report will be published in July, and Bloomington has participated in this annual survey since 2012.

The Bloomington Family Aquatic Center's season opening was delayed from its planned June 9 date due to a leak detected in a pipe underneath the main pool surface. City officials have not announced a revised opening date for the facility.

The outdoor Bloomington Farmers Market is operating every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 18 in the east lot of Civic Plaza. The seasonal market continues its regular summer schedule despite other facility delays.

Bloomington Educational Community Television students earned national and regional recognition, including the organization's first hometown media award for sports broadcasting coverage of a Kennedy versus Jefferson hockey game. Jefferson senior Lucas Craig received an AV All-Star Award from the Midwest Emmy Foundation, marking the fifth consecutive year a BEC TV student has been honored with the award.
