Logan Lodge Opens as Interim Senior Center
Logan Lodge has opened as the temporary home for Bloomington's senior programs during the next two years while the city constructs a new community health and wellness center, according to city recreation officials.
Matt, a recreation supervisor with Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, said the facility will house various senior activities across four rooms. Room 101 serves as the main gathering space where participants can read newspapers, drink coffee and participate in programming including the creative crafters group. The facility also includes a main office staffed by city employees.
The lodge accommodates several specialized groups throughout its rooms. Room 102 currently hosts a writer's club where participants create fiction and non-fiction pieces, while room 103 houses the cribbage group, described as one of the larger card groups. Room 104 is dedicated to leather working and quilting activities, with the quilting group donating hundreds of quilts annually to shelters and people in need.
While Logan Lodge serves as the hub for crafting, card games and social activities, the city has relocated other senior programs to different venues. Fitness programs have moved to the Bloomington Center for the Arts, and the country music jam will take place at Christ the King Church every Thursday during the two-year interim period.

[0:04] today we are at Logan Lodge. Logan Lodge
[0:07] is going to be the interim home for
[0:09] senior programs for the next 2 years
[0:10] while they are building the new
[0:12] community health and wellness center.
[0:13] Right now we are standing in room 101,
[0:16] which is the main room at Logan Lodge.
[0:18] In this room, you can read the paper,
[0:20] have a cup of coffee. We also do a
[0:22] little bit of programming in this room.
[0:23] Right now, we have the creative
[0:25] crafters. And here at the main office,
[0:27] you can greet uh our wonderful staff.
[0:29] Maddie is here today and now we're
[0:31] heading to room 102. Right now we have
[0:32] the writer club in there. They write
[0:35] different types of pieces, fiction,
[0:36] non-fiction, and then get together and
[0:38] chat about them. Moving on from room
[0:40] 102, we're going to head into room 103.
[0:43] Right now, our cribage group is going,
[0:45] which is one of our larger card groups.

[0:50] to room 104. Room 104 is dedicated to
[0:53] our leather working and our quilting
[0:55] group. This is where they create all
[0:58] their works of art. Every year, our
[1:00] quilting group donates hundreds of
[1:01] quilts to different shelters and other
[1:03] people in need. For the next two years,
[1:05] Logan Lodge will be the home for all of
[1:07] our crafting groups, our card groups,
[1:09] and a lot of our social activities. We
[1:11] also have relocated all of our fitness
[1:13] programs to the Bloomington Center for
[1:15] the Arts. And our country music jam is
[1:17] going to be at Christ the King Church
[1:19] every Thursday for the next 2 years. To
