[0:04] Hello Brooklyn Center. Chief Garrett
[0:06] Fuzzen here with this week's Chief
[0:08] Scout. As we move into the holiday
[0:10] season, it's a great time for giving,
[0:12] connecting, and celebrating.
[0:14] Unfortunately, it's also a time when
[0:16] scammers become more active. So, I'd
[0:18] like to offer a couple of quick
[0:20] reminders to keep you and your family
[0:22] safe. Please watch out for online
[0:24] shopping scams. Stick to trusted
[0:26] retailers and track your orders directly
[0:29] through their official websites. Please
[0:31] watch out for suspicious emails, phone
[0:34] calls, and text messages. No legitimate
[0:36] business or agency will ask for your
[0:38] passwords or full credit card numbers.
[0:41] Please watch out for fake charities and
[0:44] gift card schemes. Verify any charity
[0:46] before you donate. And remember, if
[0:48] someone is asking you to pay with gift
[0:50] cards, it's almost always a scam. A few
[0:53] simple precautions can make a big
[0:55] difference in protecting your money and
[0:57] personal information this season. Until
[1:00] next week, stay safe, look out for one
[1:02] another, and please remember, we're here
[1:04] to serve. Don't hesitate to reach out if
[1:06] you need us.
