Well, I can specifically say to you that um uh as you know, one of the things that was cited is that in the 2024 uh in our audit, uh our audit was late getting handed in. Uh in 2025, we had the same problem. The audit was handed in late. Both of those things led to in in addition to some of those the issues with the board itself, some of those things led to um [snorts] you know the lowering of our first rating.

Correction of information, the 2025 audit was not delayed. It was very much in a timely fashion. 23 and 24 were the audits that were delayed to the finance advisory council. It is I would call it it was at least this fall it was a very robust committee. It does not function currently under the board approved guidelines of appointing uh community members. We do still have community members that had applied and are still in the process. Um but because of processes that that weren't coming forward in a timely manner for the board, either people applying for positions or or applying for the position, uh the board appointing the positions and then once the appointment was made, people actually staying on the committee. Um that was a procedural um uh move by the school board to at least suspend that. The committee is still functioning intact in its entirety and arguably probably more robust than it's been in the last couple of years.

I was just going to say that I think that the years do make a big difference though. It's actually a really salient point because the years that the audit was late were years where we had completely different administration and that that is a really important point. Um those were years when we had different superintendent, different finance, you know, that's when the mistakes were made. um we have new administration who are cleaning things up, working things out. I think it makes a big difference and I think that's why it's really important to note the years. Um and so in this case, I think that's really important to to point out.

Yeah. All all I was going to say, I mean, the exact line from the standard report is that board oversight were insufficiently robust to ensure uh expenditure control and support long-term fiscal balance.

I'm not willing to bring it to a work session until Director Basset first meets with uh uh Chair Evans Becker and Dr. Stallow and uh Dr. Wuto for clarity because um I'm really concerned um I mean certainly I have some very strong opinions as to how it is I think we got here [clears throat] that I think are substant I have some very strong opinions on how it is I think we got here uh that if I brought them up would be really unfavorable and would probably have people saying this is really harming and this would be so there's a part of me that says that one of the things I know is that there's not going to be onepage blanket summary that's going to explain the mess that we're in.

We have over 10% of our custodial staff that is currently being filled by our contracted services through intra intro. Um and the rationale for that being as we are consolidating buildings and closing schools, we are filling our current openings with contracted employees so that at the end of June when we have to release staff based on seniority, we would release the contracted services people first and be able to retain our Robbinsdale staff in the positions. So instead of posting and filling our SEIU positions now, we are putting contracted staff in those positions so that we will release those contracted staff at the end of the school year and maintain our Ardell staff.

I was just curious. Um, I mean, I know how hard it is to try to hire someone for a position that's going to like we'd love to hire you, but just so you know, it's only for five months. People tend to not love those positions. Um, but so I'm just curious why the I mean, so I assume the you've talked to the union about this. What is the union position? Why are they pushing back? I'm just curious their thoughts on this.

Yes, I will make that into a formal motion. Say it. That that we will uh uh incorporate this topic uh appropriately with the other finance topics that were that that will be presented to us from staff.
