--- title: September 9, 2002 ## author: Pat Wood date: D:20260707095147-05'00' --- ## EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF SCHOOL BOARD ## OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 279 (OSSEO AREA SCHOOLS) ## STATE OF MINNESOTA July 14, 2026 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the School Board of Independent School District No. 279 (Osseo Area Schools), State of Minnesota, was held in said school district on July 14, 2026, at six o'clock p.m., for the purpose, in part, of considering approval of gifts to the district. The following members were present: XXXX; and the following were absent: XXXX. Member ________________ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: ## RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 123B.02, Subd. 6 provides: “The board may receive, for the benefits of the district, bequests, donations, or gifts for any proper purpose and apply the same to the purpose designated. In that behalf, the board may act as trustee of any trust created for the benefit of the district, or for the benefit of pupils thereof, including trusts created to provide pupils of the district with advanced education after completion of high school, in the advancement of education.”; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 465.03 provides: “Any city, county, school district or town may accept a grant or devise of real or personal property and maintain such property for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor. Nothing herein shall authorize such acceptance or use for religious or sectarian purposes. Every such acceptance shall be by resolution of the governing body adopted by a two-thirds majority of its members, expressing such terms in full.”; and THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the School Board of Osseo Area Schools, ISD 279, gratefully accepts the following donations as identified below: ## Donor Item Designated Purpose (if any) Anonymous $5,000.00 Anonymous grant for Woodland Elementary. Osseo Track Booster Club $8,157.09 Donation for the Osseo Senior High Track coaches. Blackbaud Giving Fund $40.00 Allison Kyriagis Medtronic donation via Blackbaud for Basswood Elementary school needs. ## Weaver Lake Elementary ## PTO $2,181.02 Donation/reimbursement for the 4 th grade Birdhouse Workshop, 2 nd ## Grade Science Crew presentation, and End of Year pizza party for various grades. Birch Grove PTO $62.93 Reimbursement for cookies for the Birch Grove Elementary kindergarten promotion. Rice Lake PTO $3,911.39 Reimbursement to the Rice Lake Elementary gift account for PTO purchases throughout the year. Oak View PTO $17,467.54 Donation for payroll, various field trips, PA system, and Artist in Residency at Oak View Elementary. Blackbaud Giving Fund $40.00 General donation for district/school needs at Osseo Area Schools. Gene Haas Foundation $2,000.00 Donation for the Park Center Senior High Robotics Team. ## TOTAL $38,859.97 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member _________________.
