[0:28] e [0:58] e [1:28] e [1:58] e [2:28] e [2:58] e e [3:56] good evening this meeting of the oio [3:58] school board is being conducted in the [4:00] boardroom at the Educational Service [4:02] Center this meeting can be monitored [4:05] electronically by streaming online from [4:07] the district website an archived [4:09] recording of tonight's meeting will also [4:11] be available on the district website as [4:14] acting chair I declare that the [4:15] organizational meeting of the [4:17] Independent School District 279 School [4:20] Board is called to order at 6 pm on [4:22] Tuesday January 7th [4:24] 2025 seated in front of you this evening [4:27] from my left and your right are Thomas [4:29] Brooks Erica Foster Keith Tate myself [4:35] Tanya Prince Kelsey Dawson and Sarah [4:39] Mitchell also present in the boardroom [4:41] are superintendent Dr Kim H and members [4:44] of the superintendent's cabinet those of [4:46] you who can please stand for the Pledge [4:49] of Allegiance director Mitchell will you [4:51] please lead us in the [4:52] pledge Al to the flag of the United [4:56] States of America and to the Republic [4:59] for stands one nation under God [5:03] indivisible withy and justice for [5:11] all the next agenda item is the swearing [5:14] in of elected members and the oath of [5:17] office Erica Foster Kelsey Dawson and [5:20] Keith Tate will you please join me in [5:21] front for the board Das to take the [5:44] [Music] [5:48] okay um at this time I will read a [5:51] statement about the importance of [5:53] appointed position position from the [5:55] Minnesota Schoolboard Association [6:00] it is an honor that you are elected to [6:02] guide the education of our community's [6:05] students as you recite the oath of [6:07] office you assume a tremendous [6:09] responsibility as a director of our [6:11] school district with the duties [6:13] empowered by the Minnesota Legislature [6:16] this power puts you and the other [6:17] members of our school board in the [6:19] position of both being morally and [6:22] legally responsible for Equitable [6:25] quality education of every student in [6:27] our district in carrying out this [6:29] responsibility you will be asked to [6:31] fulfill the roles of vision structure [6:34] accountability and advocacy in providing [6:37] Vision the board with participation of [6:40] the community envisions the community's [6:42] educational future and then formulates [6:45] the goals defines the outcomes and sets [6:48] the course for the public schools to [6:51] achieve the vision the board establishes [6:53] a structure and creates an environment [6:55] designed to ensure all students the [6:58] opportunity to attain their maximum [7:00] potential through a sound organizational [7:03] framework because as a board we must be [7:06] accountable to the community we must [7:08] ensure a continuous assessment of [7:10] student achievement and all conditions [7:13] affecting the education of our [7:15…
