[0:04] - I am Britt Olean school social worker [0:07] at Anoka-Hennepin Schools [0:09] and I'm excited to recognize the winners of this year's [0:12] Annual Kindness Poster Contest. [0:15] Congratulations and thank you to all of our participants. [0:19] In Anoka-Hennepin, we believe kindness takes all of us. [0:24] Our students and staff model kindness [0:26] in their school communities each day. [0:29] When we asked our students to illustrate [0:31] their vision of kindness, they brought this year's theme [0:35] of Kindness Takes All of Us to Life. [0:37] We receive nearly 170 entries [0:41] for this year's 21st Annual Poster Contest. [0:45] Thank you to our participants [0:47] for creatively demonstrating how kindness takes all of us. [0:51] Congratulations to this year's winners. [0:54] Lillian Raschke, Kindergarten, Sunrise Elementary, [0:59] Gabe Zuk, 1st Grade, McKinley Elementary. [1:04] Ollie Miller, 2nd Grade, Sunrise Elementary. [1:08] Mayvis Yang, 3rd Grade, McKinley Elementary. [1:13] Addison Bartley, 4th Grade, Dayton Elementary. [1:17] Sabreen Zeinu, 5th Grade, Sunrise Elementary. [1:22] Madeline Parrott, 6th Grade, Anoka Middle School [1:25] for the Arts. [1:27] Ada Hammond, 7th Grade, Northdale Middle School. [1:32] Fatima Muhamed, 8th Grade, Northdale Middle School. [1:36] Katie Tran, 9th Grade, Andover High School. [1:42] - Well, I just thought about how it really does [1:43] take all of us to make the world a better, kinder place [1:46] and I just wanted to inspire others. [1:49] - I did a bunch of different parts of my poster [1:53] and one of them was somebody buying groceries for someone. [1:56] One of them was somebody showing sportsmanship. [1:59] One of them was planting trees and recycling. [2:03] It shows there are lots of different ways to be kind. [2:06] - Kindness really takes over a person. [2:08] It shows the kind of person you really are. [2:11] I illustrated all of these kids going up to a kid [2:14] in a wheelchair and asking him to play, [2:16] because I really think that no matter who you are, [2:20] I think every kid should be included. [2:22] My favorite part of the poster was making the faces, [2:25] 'cause it shows all around the world. [2:29] - My favorite part of my poster is my hand prints. [2:35] - Can you show us your hands again? [2:37] Congratulations once again [2:39] to all of our Kindness Poster Contest winners [2:43] and a special thank you to Horace Mann [2:45] for providing Kindle tablets to the winners. [2:49] Kindness takes all of us [2:51] and together we can make our schools [2:53] a welcoming place to learn. [2:55] Thank you to our staff and students [2:58] for continuing to spread kindness in our schools.
