And then we did a [18:21] vote, like an old school vote, like [18:23] paper pencil vote and we tallied and [18:27] Coldplay won. So, that's what we're [18:28] playing tonight. And [50:25] she did what I call a pre- studentent [50:27] teaching placement. So she's a junior. [50:29] She's music ed. She's not student [50:31] teaching yet, but she was with us on [50:33] Tuesdays and Thursdays for first hour [50:35] through third hour. So, she worked with [50:37] concert band, but then she also worked [50:38] with symphonic band, which was awesome [50:40] because she's a drummer. She's a [50:43] percussionist, I should say. Right. So, [50:45] then um there was a day where we [50:47] literally carried all of the percussion [50:48] stuff from the band room out on stage [50:50] and she ran rehearsal on Ruckus and [50:53] Fusion uh by herself with a percussion [50:55] section and in a day it was like a brand [50:58] new piece. So, she's not here. here. [51:00] She's in a meeting that started 4 [51:02] minutes ago, but we're getting recorded [51:04] right now by the district and we can [51:05] say, "Hannah, check this out." So, give [51:07] it up for Miss Bliss. [51:20] And then she she also performed for [51:21] Symphony Band, which was super cool. She [51:23] did like her recital piece on a Tuesday [51:25] afternoon and then played it for us two [51:26] days later on the vibes. And it's it's [51:28] fabulous. like you could hear a pin drop [51:30] and the band was laser focused watching [51:31] her play and it was really cool just to [51:33] see the intensity and the care that's [51:35] taken in her four mallets you know so [51:37] two hands and four mounts super super [51:38] super cool all right so our next [51:40] selection is the total opposite quite [51:42] intentional this is Chedoff's salvation [51:45] is created [52:58] Heat. Um it was an [68:24] audition process last spring and an [68:25] acceptance process and you look at the [68:27] program from the day for the day and [68:29] it's bands from across the country which [68:31] is really pretty fabulous to play in one [68:33] of the premier venues across the country [68:36] across the world really. All [75:12] right? And like I said, I know that I'm [75:13] biased. That's fine. All right? But, you [75:15] know, is it important to read and write [75:17] and to do math? Absolutely. But I've [75:20] heard it said that if we don't teach the [75:21] arts, if we don't teach music, then [75:24] there's nothing to read and write about, [75:26] right? So, [75:36] And and especially with my symphonic [75:38] band, I tell them it's like, man, every [75:40] time that middle section of balllet, [75:41] every time we play that, I get [75:42] goosebumps, right? It's so cool. Like, [75:44] we got to teach the whole person, right? [75:46] and and there's no one subject that's [75:47] more important than another, but man, um [75:49] arts education and aesthetic education [75:51] is so important and just an outlet, just [75:53] an outlet in this world where we can [75:55] just be human and just be human and make [75:57] music together is so important.
