My name is Jen Rowan and [0:27] on behalf of the Cooper Choirs, we [0:29] welcome you to tonight's performance. We [0:31] have some very nervous singers, but some [0:33] very excited singers and they're going [0:35] to rock it. So, I introduce to you the [0:37] Varsity Soprano and Elto Choir. [1:11] They don't [singing and music] have to [1:14] me. [1:15] They only have for me. [1:20] Any [music and singing] [1:22] voice takes me closer where I need to [1:25] be. [music] [1:27] Step out [singing] [1:29] of your space. [1:31] There's a fear of falling. [music] [1:37] What if we fall? [music] [1:40] [singing] [1:41] What if we fall? [1:44] [music] [1:48] >> [singing] [1:48] >> Oh, [1:51] let's give it a try. [music] [1:56] When the [singing] world tries to tell [1:59] [music] us we need to fit into boxes, [2:05] let's just stare at [music] [2:08] our way out [singing] of the coloring [2:10] lights. [2:12] There's [music] a Vshaped [2:14] [singing] space [2:16] that's on my to save [2:20] [singing and music] a special place that [2:23] I deserve to embrace. [2:27] Step [singing and music] out of your [2:30] space. [2:31] There's a fear [singing] [2:33] of falling. [music] [2:38] What we [singing] are? [music] [2:44] [singing] [2:45] [music] [2:51] Let's [singing] give it a try. [2:55] [music] [2:58] [singing] [3:03] [music] [3:05] >> [singing] [3:09] [singing] [3:10] >> Let's give it a try. [25:53] [singing] [25:55] Oh, say [music] [25:58] shalom. [26:01] Oh, [music] [26:03] say shalom. [26:09] [music] [26:11] Oh, [26:21] shalom. [singing] [26:25] Amen. [26:28] [music] [26:36] >> [applause] [26:43] [applause] [26:59] >> All right, we're going to start setting [27:00] up for our final two pieces. Can I have [27:03] the varsity teners and bases take the [27:05] stage, please? [27:08] Teners in rows four and three, bases in [27:10] rows two and one. [27:22] And then sopranos and altos, you know [27:24] what to do. [27:29] So, this is the part where I want to [27:31] just highlight a couple things in the [27:32] program. Um, we have all of our concert [27:36] dates for the year that are on the back [27:38] of the program. So, be sure to note that [27:41] we are hosting in about a month our [27:44] conference, all conference band, choir, [27:46] and orchestra festival on Friday, the [27:50] non-school day, January 23rd. We also [27:53] just cast our musical, so make sure to [27:56] take note of our You're a good man, [27:58] Charlie Brown performance dates. And [28:02] also, and now I'm moving back a page in [28:04] the program, just lots of [28:05] acknowledgement. Um, this is my first [28:08] year in 27 years where I have not taught [28:11] with a colleague. So, it's just me. It's [28:14] been a big change. Uh, we are not [28:16] offering fewer opportunities for the [28:18] students. It's just that it's now just [28:20] me. And I'm so proud of the student [28:23] leadership that has emerged as well as [28:26] the support of my colleagues Marcus Han, [28:28] Casey Thompson, um and then of course uh [28:32] the support of of parents that have [28:34] jumped in to pitch to help too. A couple [28:36] thank yous. I want to thank Mimi [28:38] Schoberg, auditorium manager, for being [28:40] here tonight and keeping our stage [28:42] logistics running smoothly. And I would [28:45] also like you to give Dan Wannaker, our [28:47] collaborative piano player, a big round [28:50] of applause as he comes out tonight. [28:52] [screaming] He's already out. [28:56] [applause] [28:58] All right. We also have another concert [29:01] tonight at 8:00. So maybe you maybe [29:03] you're here or you got a comfy seat and [29:05] you'll stay for the second concert. On [29:08] your way out the door tonight, there are [29:11] donation boxes. If you feel so inspired [29:13] to donate to the program, we will put it [29:15] to good use. I promise. And then there's [29:17] also a a cart to collect any toy drive [29:21] donations that you may have brought [29:22] tonight. The toy drive is sponsored by [29:25] the Cooper Spirit Committee and ends [29:27] tomorrow. And then on Friday, Cooper [29:29] students um get to get to put those [29:32] donations to good use in a very special [29:34] way. Wink. All right. So, our last piece [29:37] is called Jonah, featuring two soloists, [29:40] Jason and Gift. And we'll get them set [29:42] up at the mics. [29:53] This is the story about Jonah, [singing] [29:57] whose circumstances made for quite a [30:00] tale. [30:02] He was a man who had a great adventure. [30:05] [singing] [30:07] Woke caught up in the belly of a [30:13] [music and singing] [30:20] [singing and music] [30:21] Joy [30:23] the belly of the [singing and music] [30:27] belly [30:29] in the belly of a shelly [30:33] of a [music] whale [singing] [30:36] in the belly of a whale [30:39] in [music] the belly of a whale [30:43] was running from the call of the Lord. [30:46] So he finds a shoot and he makes his way [30:48] on board. But soon and very soon is the [30:52] call of the Lord [singing] he was hiding [30:54] from and a mighty well. [30:58] [singing] [31:08] [music] [31:14] [music] I know it's me. The crew ship [31:17] through the [singing] sea and a mighty [31:20] well [music] [31:27] [music] [31:31] [singing] [31:32] [music] [31:38] [singing] up by the way. [31:41] and give it some time [music] to pray. [31:45] He said three [singing] days, three [31:48] nights in the way. [31:50] [music] [31:51] in the way. [31:55] [music] [31:55] John [31:58] [singing] [32:03] [music and singing] [32:08] [music] [32:09] in the valley of the way. [32:18] >> [cheering] [32:24] [cheering] [32:30] >> Let's go. [32:32] >> Now you there. [32:34] >> Yes, sir. [32:49] >> [music] [32:53] >> See the snowflakes [32:56] [music] [32:57] here. [singing] [33:01] Look how the treelist. [music] [33:06] [singing] [33:08] [music] [33:11] Here [33:13] we go. [music] [33:19] >> [music] [33:20] >> through the trees on your knees. [33:23] Everybody [bell] [33:26] [music] [33:28] [singing] [33:34] [singing] [33:37] [music] [33:40] singing lower and lower and slower and [33:45] slower [singing and music] [33:46] we go. Oh, [33:50] [music] [33:54] stop [singing] for a [music] moment [33:56] while the horse is press [34:01] the [singing] [34:03] ground in air. [34:07] Now [singing and music] that the sun is [34:09] raining in the west, [34:13] back to [singing] [34:14] all we go [34:18] [music] [34:21] into [34:23] [music] [34:30] [music] [34:31] [singing] [34:33] the ground. Don't forget to [music] keep [34:37] your hands on here [singing] [34:41] [bell] [34:45] [music and singing] [34:47] on your knees. [34:49] Never mind. [34:54] If you [singing] froze and you're to [34:56] [music] blame, but aren't you glad [35:01] [singing] you aren't you glad you came. [35:07] [cheering] [35:21] Thank you so much for your support [35:22] tonight. Have a good evening. [35:34] Thank you.
