[0:04] Hello, welcome to University Avenue
[0:09] Children's Engineering and Science
[0:10] School. I am Principal Blamers and I
[0:13] can't wait to take you on a tour today
[0:14] of our amazing school.
[0:18] [Music]
[0:26] University Avenue Elementary School is a
[0:27] magnet school that values leadership,
[0:29] relationships, and engagement. Our
[0:32] school is home to about 600 diverse
[0:34] learners excited to engage their
[0:37] learning thanks to a unique aerospace
[0:39] theme, STEM focus, and the foundational
[0:41] habits of being a leader in the school.
[0:44] 13, 14, 15.
[0:46] We are also a proud MSA merit school. We
[0:50] are continually recognized by magnet
[0:52] schools of America as a top school in
[0:54] the nation. These national honors come
[0:57] from demonstrating a commitment to high
[1:00] academic standards, curriculum
[1:02] innovation, success and diversity, and
[1:05] strong parent and community involvement.
[1:11] Nice. Family involvement goes handinhand
[1:14] with student success and we enjoy
[1:17] hosting a wide range of family mates.
[1:20] Some are open to the full school while
[1:22] other opportunities are unique to each
[1:24] grade level. It's a team project. Go
[1:26] ahead, try it out.
[1:27] Well, we're also proud to be one of two
[1:29] lighthouse schools in the state of
[1:31] Minnesota. A national certification from
[1:34] Franklin CVY Education. Through a
[1:37] program called Leader and Me, students
[1:39] learn to become self-aware, take
[1:41] initiative to plan. They set and track
[1:44] goals, prioritize their time,
[1:46] communicate effectively, find creative
[1:48] solutions, and contribute positively to
[1:51] society. Is that an array?
[1:54] No. Because an array has to be what
[1:56] shape?
[1:58] A rectangle. Our team is dedicated to
[2:01] building strong readers through the
[2:03] science of reading. We remain focused on
[2:06] promoting literacy. Students seek to
[2:09] understand. They find their voice and
[2:12] pursue wildly important goals focused on
[2:15] their education.
[2:18] [Music]
[2:21] We are proud. We are leaders. We are
[2:25] University Avenue aces. We'll see you
[2:27] soon.
