super tendent of Anoka hopen schools and it's my honor to [1:33] welcome you all and get our evening started our academic growth certificate [1:39] is an honor determined through a process coordinated with the school board it's [1:44] an Anoka henpen District award that aims to recognize the work being done by [1:50] students to improve academic performance in reading math and language [1:56] acquisition here tonight our school board members Matt a de Casey [2:02] desan Linda hulman and Dr Michelle langenfeld also with us tonight is [2:09] associate superintendent Dr Mary Wolverton schools have a tradition of [2:15] recognizing athletic success along with high achievement by students and staff [2:21] across the district over time the school board began having conversations on ways to [2:27] celebrate additional wins for students stents with the help of many we are now [2:33] able to celebrate student academic growth which our presenters will share more detail [2:39] about we know that gathering this data and organizing these recognition events are timec consuming and sometimes [2:45] difficult but on behalf of our school board we are very grateful for all the [2:52] participation by students and your families and the results of these efforts working with District [2:59] administrators to study academic data the school board is using this platform to honor the determination of students [3:06] that made significant academic growth over the course of the school [3:12] year students here tonight have demonstrated the highest level of growth in your academic area for your entire [3:19] school and that is an accomplishment to celebrate and parents and family members [3:27] thank you thank you for coming and being here to support your student our format for tonight's award [3:33] presentation features schools from the Andover Anoka and Champlin Park School [3:39] feeder areas we will recognize students by school and those schools are River [3:46] Trail Middle School [4:19] for the Arts Jackson Middle School and Oakview Middle School to begin let's [4:26] welcome Dr Mary Wolverton associate superintendent of elementary school to get us [4:37] started thank you superintendent McIntyre this evening students have been [4:43] invited to be recognized by the inoca henpen school board for their academic [4:48] growth the district identified students who made significant growth over the [4:55] 2023 24 school year in the areas of math reading and English language acquisition [5:04] using the map assessment MCA assessments coat and access growth was measured by [5:11] comparing performance on two of the same Assessments in any of the three examined [5:18] areas students demonstrating growth excuse me students demonstrating growth [5:25] within the top five percentile at each grade level districtwide were [5:31] identified of these identified students those with the highest growth at each [5:37] School are being invited this evening for school board recognition tonight we [5:43] will be recognizing those students by school the principal of the school will read the names of the students the [5:50] student will come and receive an academic medal award from their school [5:55] board member then all students will Assemble for a group photo after all [6:02] names have been called please limit your applause until all students have
