And I'd like to give her [42:29] a moment to say a few words about the [42:31] booster program here at Cooper and what [42:33] uh and what they do to support us here [42:35] at the orchestra program. I'm Jana and I am the parent [42:45] CPAB, which stands for Cooper Performing [42:47] Arts Boosters Representative for [42:50] Orchestra this year. And I want to first [42:52] thank you all for um your support of [42:54] these talented musicians tonight. Um [42:58] CPAB's main goal is to raise money to [43:01] support the performing arts at Cooper [43:03] and ensure that all students can take [43:06] part in band, orchestra, choir, and [43:10] theater activities. [43:12] Uh the funds raised through the [43:13] donations and running the concession [43:16] stand um are used to provide things like [43:19] music or instruments as well as funding [43:22] for the meals for all kids when they go [43:24] on trips. Um and I think um uh the the [43:29] choir is going to Nashville, I believe, [43:31] this year. Um so I'm up here tonight [43:34] just to encourage you to get involved in [43:36] a way that you're able. We want your [43:38] ideas, your feedback, and if that isn't [43:40] your strength, uh we can always use [43:42] volunteers for various performing arts [43:45] events. They meet once a week on [48:03] Mondays for half an hour and they've put [48:05] that all together on their own. I have been [48:35] enthusiastically the orchestra teacher [48:37] at RMS for the past 11 years and this [48:40] year I got to also add on Fair Crystal [48:43] to my um to my life and it has been so [48:47] fun. All year I've been so excited for [48:49] this night because I really feel that [48:52] each orchestra is going to bring out the [48:54] best in each other and I feel like that [48:57] came true for tonight for the rehearsal [48:59] this um earlier today. Um so you're [49:02] going to get to hear us play two pieces [49:04] that are um quite different. One is a [49:06] classical piece um Vivaldi's Winter. Um, [49:10] I promise I had nothing to do with the [49:12] weather. Um, but it's going to kind of [49:15] sound like it looks like outside. And [49:18] the other piece is called An Irish Party [49:19] in Third Class. It's a favorite piece of [49:21] mine and I've been just waiting for the [49:23] right group to play it. And I think that [49:25] this year I finally found the group that [49:27] was um that had that that vibe for this [49:30] piece. Um, if you are um older like me, [49:35] you may remember seeing the Titanic in [49:37] the theater like four times because I [49:39] was in middle school when it came out. [49:41] And um, so some of this is actually from [49:44] the movie. So you may, if you are um, [49:47] old like me, you may recognize this, but [49:49] it's also just really fun. It's just [49:50] really fun um, music. The other fun [49:53] thing that happens is the second half of [49:55] Irish Party and Third Class is a piece [49:57] called John Ryan's Poker. And if you're [49:59] also old like me and have little kids, [50:02] it can be found in the episode of [50:03] Blueie. So, um, everything comes full [50:06] circle. So, those are our two pieces.
