[0:06] Hi, welcome to Ramsey Elementary School.
[0:09] I'm Denise Schnabble, the principal, and
[0:11] we're excited to show you here at Ramsay
[0:13] Elementary how our staff and students
[0:15] are leading the way.
[0:18] [Music]
[0:25] Ramsey Elementary is located just north
[0:28] of the Anoka community in the heart of
[0:30] the city of Ramsey, serving
[0:31] approximately 930 diverse and
[0:34] enthusiastic learners. Our attendance
[0:36] area stretches from downtown Anoka all
[0:39] the way to just north of our location in
[0:41] Ramsey. Although we are a large school,
[0:44] our staff and students are intentional
[0:45] about making it feel like a community to
[0:47] everyone. E

[0:53] Our beautiful property is the home of
[0:55] one of Minnesota's registered schoolyard
[0:57] forests that our staff and students use
[0:59] throughout the seasons. In our building,
[1:02] it is important that everyone is focused
[1:03] on our three foundations, seek
[1:06] connection with others, build our
[1:08] community, and show our Eagle pride. But
[1:11] is that exactly half or more than half?
[1:13] The Ramsay staff are committed to
[1:15] building relationships with our
[1:16] students. Our goal is to capitalize on
[1:19] each person's strengths while
[1:20] encouraging and supporting perseverance
[1:22] in our growth areas. So 6* 7 is 42.
[1:27] Do you have a 42 on there?
[1:29] Students are each part of the goal
[1:31] setting process and have regular
[1:32] checkpoints to continue their success.
[1:35] Family involvement goes handinhand with
[1:37] student success and we enjoy hosting a
[1:39] wide range of family events. We are
[1:42] proud to have a parent teacher
[1:43] organization that supports family
[1:44] involvement. Each year we work to create
[1:47] connections between family and school,
[1:50] including hosting a fall picnic, a
[1:52] winter math night called Numbers and
[1:53] Nachos, a multilingual family event,
[1:56] family reading nights, and many more. We
[1:59] are always looking for adults to support
[2:01] our learning community in any ways that
[2:03] they can. We have volunteers that
[2:05] support in our cafeterias and help in
[2:07] organizational tasks for the classrooms.
[2:10] We also have trained volunteers that
[2:11] come in to support students in specific
[2:13] academic skills on a regular basis. Our
[2:16] volunteers are valuable resource to our
[2:19] system.

[2:26] Thank you for visiting Ramsey Elementary
[2:28] School. We hope to see you soon.
