School District 279 Board Approves Teacher Contracts
The Independent School District 279 School Board approved more than 20 new teacher contracts during a brief regular meeting Tuesday evening.
Board Chair Tanya Prince called the meeting to order at 6 p.m., stating the purpose was to act on time-sensitive district business related to personnel and operational needs. The board unanimously approved a consent agenda that included the new teacher contracts, financial reports, the 2024-2025 investments report, grants and meeting minutes.
The board also approved gifts to the district totaling $121,523.43. Prince thanked the community for its generosity, saying the donations enhance opportunities for students.
Additionally, the board renewed memberships for the 2025-2026 school year with the Minnesota School Boards Association and the Association of Metropolitan School Districts.
The meeting adjourned at 6:02 p.m. Prince announced there would be no public comment period, reports, updates or presentations during the streamlined session.
