The Osseo Area Schools board unanimously approved attendance boundary changes Tuesday that will affect approximately 2,000 elementary and middle school students beginning in fall 2026.

The board adopted amended scenario 2A, which includes adjustments to keep the Sundance Woods neighborhood with Fernbrook Elementary School and move the northwestern part of Edinbrook's boundary to Osseo Middle School. The changes represent a community-driven solution developed through extensive public engagement, according to district officials.

"What you see tonight is very much a community-based solution," Superintendent Dr. Kim Hy said during the meeting. The district's website received over 60,000 views during the boundary review process, with multiple community meetings held to gather input.

The boundary changes were necessitated by significant enrollment growth in the northwest portions of the district and capacity imbalances at various schools. High school boundaries remain unchanged, as promised during the 2023 Building a Better Future referendum campaign.

The board also approved two-year contracts for Confidential Support Specialists and Osseo Administrative Professionals, covering 128 employees total. Both contracts include base salary increases and enhanced benefits, with implementation beginning July 1.
