Xavier Reed has been appointed as the new principal of Maple Grove Middle School, bringing eight years of school administration experience to the position.

Reed, who previously served as a student in the Osseo Area Schools district, said his connection to the community influenced his decision to accept the role. He has spent the past eight years in school administration, including five years as a principal in Mountain View Public Schools and Wayzata Public Schools.

"I used to be a student in the district," Reed said during an introductory interview. "Being able to come back to the Osseo area schools was something that I was really interested in." Reed also noted that having his own two children enrolled in the district made the position particularly meaningful to him.

The new principal expressed enthusiasm for working with middle school students, describing the three-year period as a time of significant growth and development. Reed emphasized his focus on supporting students and staff in achieving success.

Reed and his wife Courtney are expecting their third child in September. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities and sports.
