Robbinsdale Area Schools has launched Reimagine Rdale: Vision 2030, a comprehensive district transformation initiative that will analyze all aspects of the school system over the next eight months, Superintendent Terry Staloch announced Thursday.

A 46-member Vision team representing the district's student diversity and geographic areas will conduct the analysis, examining academics, finances, enrollment and facilities while incorporating community input. The team will present recommendations to the school board in early fall 2025.

The district conducted a comprehensive survey in January and February 2025 to gather feedback from community members about their values, needs and hopes for the schools. Community engagement efforts continue through April with forums, listening sessions and events designed to connect directly with families and staff.

While pursuing the long-term vision, the district faces immediate financial pressures requiring a $21 million budget reduction for fiscal year 2026. Staloch said the district must make difficult decisions to align limited resources with student needs and community values.

The superintendent described the initiative as more than a plan, calling it a collective effort to create a more inclusive future for students, families and staff. The Vision team will use community feedback as a foundation to explore innovative solutions and ensure resources align with district values.
