Robbinsdale School Board Suspends Finance Committee Bylaws
The Robbinsdale Area Schools Board voted Tuesday to suspend bylaws governing its Financial Advisory Council to allow the committee to continue operating while new guidelines are developed.
The decision came during a work session after Chief Financial Officer Kristen Hoheisel reported the committee has struggled to maintain quorum and follow existing procedures. The current bylaws require seven resident members, but the committee is down to five active participants, making it difficult to conduct business.
We are struggling to get a quorum at any meeting," Hoheisel told board members. "There are barriers in formalization just as there are advantages.
The board agreed the committee should receive financial information from district staff before board members review it, allowing the advisory group to make informed recommendations. Board members will work on revising the bylaws over the coming weeks.
