AI Area Schools Superintendent Welcomes Families Back
Dr. Kim Hiel, superintendent of AI Area Schools, welcomed parents and caregivers to the 2025-26 school year in a message emphasizing the district's "one community for all" philosophy.
The district is implementing significant building improvements funded by community support, with 66 school building projects expected to be completed by 2027. Summer improvements included outdoor classrooms, library media centers, maker spaces and classroom additions across district schools.
"Your partnership helps us make a school place where every student feels safe, seen, and supported," Hiel said in the welcome message. She emphasized the district's commitment to supporting student growth academically and in building confidence, courage and competence.
The district unveiled a new logo in July that honors the district's history while looking toward the future. The design reflects the "one community for all" philosophy and brings together the district's diverse schools and cities. The new logo will appear in print and digital communications.
Hiel expressed gratitude for community support of the building improvements and said she looks forward to "a year full of learning, connection, and celebration for every single one of our students."
