if there's something about the mechanical layout whether there's something about the storage layout when it gets appropriately sized if that facilitates a change to the kitchen to get aide so I do like it towards the back and I do like it to have direct exterior access [Applause] question next page yeah I would sorry think you back to the lighting question we might want to add if you get to access that backside really to go in and out it might be worth considering like the corner on the left and upper side didn't have a ton of lighting like I'm sure the building will have lights too but there was kind of a void outside of that single occupancy room right there there's one up by the seating area there but yep not the building it might be nice to have them all but they're on the building yeah I think I would want to use guys on on like wall packs essentially I think that'll Focus your light in the right spots and I think it'll cut off way to incorporate previous discussion I just wanted to make sure people going to be at the end of the night going in and out of that back side you want to have it shows you're paying attention it was in compliment real quick on that partition of the main Gathering I was just realizing that that's the the Gathering itself is going to be like this do you have are there partitions that do that shape how does that work it would have a s above it have a bul oh just okay and it just comes down it's just the the operable portion of it would only go up 9 or 10 ft external of the building yeah so much like floor plan we're kind of in an iterative process um on the building exterior U most of our early models had one one volume and because of the pitch nature of the building we're a very tall building just because rise one over seed because all building so what we did is we separated the building into two volumes um and that better that let us uh keep the building profile down and it also allowed us to tailor the structural systems for each side of the building as you can imagine from the floor plan kind of have a a more showy side and a more Workman like side to the facility so we're able to use a more economical and straightforward uh wood framing system on this side and a voled um wood framing system on this side just better use of the the money um on this side we've got two large open ends it's a it's mirrored on both sides you're seeing uh a lot of glazing on this side uh the top glazing would be more translucent it would be either either a insulated fiberglass panel or some type of um frosted glass panel to eliminate glare from above and also allow you to just have better management of the window shades you could place the window shades along this line and get shading and reduce glare in the uh room from from that entire side of the building uh you're seeing that large opening here uh again uh we're still defining on what kind of door that wants to be there are some positive and negatives that we're seeing for all the different types of doors you know everything from how it functions to the maintenance to the overall first cost of it so I want to bring something to you that's a little bit more informed for a decision um when we have that information we have the large open uh area directly off the main room along the side it faces the ball field this is the front entry with the covered opening As you move around the building again you're seeing much of the same laners as we go around the building the large open opening towards the playground uh and a covered awning which mimics the awning from the front door back at the concession window to provide a little bit of coverage there uh in terms of materials right now we're looking at a tongue and groove wood siding vertical yeah and then a standing steam metal roof as your two primary uh building materials the windows would be what we're looking at in pricing is a fiberglass clad wood window for the window question or comment on the exterior of the building you said the sighting is wood shouldn't it be more of like a fiber board it depends on the type of Maintenance that we're looking at doing and also kind of the first and second cost and also trying to keep in line with the aesthetic of The Agrarian vernacular I love white sighting I just this building's going to be around for a long time correct and and what we're looking at is more of a a maintainable finish for that wood siding the problem that I have with some of the fiber boards is that once it goes bad it's you have to sort of replace it where wood can be plucked out been replaced on an incremental board a little bit better in my opinion and so it's there's an argument to we have for both I'm not going to pretend like there's not but in my opinion I think that if you do have a maintenance program like like a city does and you're doing that you're not deferring the maintenance I think that would actually performs better over time it's when wood isn't touched for 20 years and then you try to go back and do it that's when it becomes and what kind of wood is that it it depends I mean I would default the cedar but I'd be interested in different options there's heat treated Ash which is really interesting to me it's a process where they superheat Ash to remove any types of moisture from it and it becomes a lot more resistant to Decay I've had some good success with that I have not done that with a opaque or semi-transparent stain before so I'd like to do some research and test that because I think that would be kind of a belt and suspenders approach theoretically you can leave the ash untreated um and that's how it's sold but I would be interested to see if when you tighten those pores through the heating process If you eliminate its ability to take stat so that's what we're looking at right now but other than that our typical would be Cedar we used to do some Redwood but that's not a thing anymore okay does this is this building going to receive any energy Awards energy conservation Awards it's funny that you mentioned that because we do have an inhouse um sustainability expert and we run all of our detailing through a process which involves their review of the details so the wall sections that we're developing right now as part of the 6% set have been vetted for both constructability and sustainability and it's actually led to a few interesting conversations within the office and a few pretty significant changes to the detail from her input so I'm not sure if it's going to win Awards but it's very much a part of our design practice okay so so we're not going to curse you for the next 50 years because we the heat bills are just outrageous they might be outrageous but it's not your fault yeah I can't control the cost no you of the but in terms of insulative value and um managing kind of all those layers the bulk water layer the condensation water layer and then the vapor barrier yeah those are all things that we just those are some of the things that we've been talking about in refining as we do those wall sections and details okay that's great I mean I'm I go to the church in a bu building that was built in 1910 and you you anything you touch pops up a problem somewhere correct condensation or molder or you just can't hardly do anything right so that that's very lovely I think and and uh for better for worse we have a brand new energy code and it is very strict okay good well it's important that the Corker needs to follow the rules if we expect our citizens to do that then we should do it and I really like where you guys have come in the shape of this I like the overhangs quite a bit I think that activates a ton of space that's going to look out at the ball fields and be a good shade for everyone um I like the choice of making it all kind of glass now on that front end to be able to see through that looks nice yeah yeah I think having a more public face on the building I think is important and also that led to the overhangs if we're going to create that type of of window wall we kind of need to provide some protection for it both from the Sun and the uh rain just in terms of Maintenance so I think that each of these decisions is informing the other and I think we're goinging up in a nice spot now nice MH want our comments on the colors we're showing two colors I like the red I I I do like the red I I like the red I I love the glass and the windows on the front I I from the last version this I I really really do like this one um I I guess my comment would be the this the building on the side where the bathrooms and the kitchen is located I like that we're tying it together with the overhangs but it like it really just seems like we need something more like I don't know if it's because it doesn't have any Windows on it on the entire building it looks like just kind of almost like pole Barney to me sure but if we could add maybe some like high windows that are rectangular shaped above where the bathrooms are in specific areas or maybe you just do it on the one side of the building like on the would be the west side of the building I think is that right yeah it's at an angle it's at 4 yeah yeah yeah and then and maybe even on the the back facing just to let some light in because like being inside that space is going to be so dark other than what the lighting is in that in that in that area of that bu of the building and I know it's mostly bathrooms in the kitchen on that side mechanical you don't really need light in but you can never ever have enough natural light I think in any building no I I agree and I think that if the is open to having some type of obviously um obscured glass or another product into the bathrooms I think that's something that we could incorporate into the design okay good nice and then I noticed like in the layout the building the way it's shifted the two main sides of the wind of the building that get light are are like sort of north and south and most of our light comes from east and west um so I'm just I'm wondering do we could you let like maybe do dormers on one side or both sides to let and I don't maybe that's just not part of the aesthetic of the building but just again trying to incorporate letting more light into that main Gathering space and maybe even on the other side from above if the if it's if it's all open no and I think that the sustainability sustainability expert has asked us to do a like uh study of the building so I think that will inform where we're going to have dark spaces or or contrast contrast is really what you don't want so we just have to make sure that we're not over lighting some areas and under lighting some just want a nice even light and often light from above can solve that problem so if we do a lighting analysis and Sun study of that space I think that's going to tell us where we're going to need something cool and I disagree on the colors I'm starting I cuz I'm thinking about you're going to have when I look at the playgrounds we'll get there later I like all the colorful here huge splash of color there and I'm worried when you have right there with the the um splash pad and all the playgrounds and all activity right next to the giant red building might be a lot just a lot of color and so it might be helpful to see it all kind of together at some point to see like what combination it's not going to look like some big MH just explosion of color that we've created and that the actual building works with what the playground is going to be cuz they're like right next to each other so I'm a little worried red and the huge green playerr are going to be like Christmas too much yeah yeah I think we have the great option in the pack yeah I like option two yeah was I think we have to match the play this kind of looks a red type thing rather you know I think it's kind of the this one might last longer as far as the step I don't know I don't know it's hard to know with the if we're going to use wood It's Paper treated but could keep the wood color to it that would look lower corner yeah with the black I like that that would be pretty that would be pretty that do look really nice if this was not gray but actually like yeah see if with that Ash or sorry what was the wood he treated Ash heat treated Ash if that actually looks like wood after they heat treated it really quick question too I just this just occurred to me I don't even know if this is if it's if we need to do this but I know like in planning when we build buildings we're supposed to have a percentage of like specific types of stone or I don't know what they are I just remember it being talked about and I'm just wondering if if this falls under that same criteria or if it is different because it's a community room building like a class one versus class two materials no the city has an ordinance yeah and you know so much of the front of the house has to beever Stone some sort of your G can only you know stick out architectural design aspects of it and I don't know what they are though but maybe it doesn't apply to this residential but I feel like there's probably a business well commercial there is too like Red Barn Retreat that's going up has to have specific pieces on the front of their build or around their building that that just sort of breaks up the building so it's not all just one solid material yes we'll take a look at the ordinance and see what those percentages are I know the only thing I'll add is we could make it even more F like and farm like if we had a Weather Vein and a Sil a CA that is a back pocket idea great up there it's actually on the white oh good excellent cool that's awesome you just don't know what it I'm a value added kind of guy and I like it if it does is a I like I like it if it does something so it's pretty wind so that would give us the direction of the wind wait did somebody say cell tower cuz that's actually I [Laughter] like yeah I like those things if we go for the more if you can you can probably bring in some of those more features if it isn't like a giant literal red like if it's like this wood one you could add I think that makes some sense I think we talked about a couple things that could easily overlap as the design progresses you know maybe we see a need to get from above and we come up with some type of detail that also is reminiscent of a weather B but it's a light let lightting yeah okay good it's coming along mhm and then this is just two dimensional views of same we' been talking [Applause] about okay um okay so moving on to the the playground so we did reach out to three different vendors a lot of the concepts we were showing you early on was from one vendor and then just later on the process we got the concepts from the two other vendors so should say who those are um the vendors were instruct were given the same container footprint and were instructed to provide Farm agricultural theme we looked at that twin silos Park in Colorado as a precedent uh we asked for embankment slot on the slope a tower that connects into the hillside with bridge and then tractor feature in the 2 to 5year Old area and then we also ask for swings in all of the concepts and so the colors shown on these Concepts can be changed but this is what they provided uh so this is option A so this is the the concept that you have been seeing the most because this is the first one we got back from when we reached out to vendors so this is showing the towers and the swing set and the 5 to 12y old area and then the alternate um container has the zip lines in it and then the back you can see the 25y old tractor theme next one uh so this is another view from the 2 to 5-year-old area so there's a group swing there and then some single features and the next one you can see this has two Bridges so it would have a circuit could go on one Bridge through the um upper area of the play structure and then back out on the other bridge and then it has the embankment slides shown so there quite a few slides and bridges in this concept another [Applause] view next one another view uh now we're on to option b so this one only has one Bridge from the sidewalk on 5 to2 two towers and then the embankment slide and then some net climbing features next image can see some more of those climbing features next one so this is showing that one Bridge connecting to the upper sidewalk next one this is the two to five girl area showing the those in the background those are swings that you sit those round Veil looking features or swings and then a covered wagon tractor feature okay and then option C so this is the third vendor you can see very tall tower with a very long winding slide uh the bridge between the two towers the next one U this is the tractor feature in the 2 to 5-year-old area next one so this is showing uh the different features in those two towers that are connected and then there's the one Bridge you can see on the left side that connects the pl the sidewalk next one is showing how tall the tower is and next one is two to five year olds highlighting some of the [Applause] features all right uh and then the splash pad so we were um we received two different concepts from two different vendors so we again provided them the same budget General layout asked them to give Farm egg theme combination of surface sprayers and aboveground features potential to integrate lighting but I think that might be more expensive um for the value that it would add so uh the first one is um um showing a couple of above ground features more nature themed and then several surface sprayer Jets so this the other view so you can see that water play table and then the the larger um plant feature that has a bucket on the back and then option b so this is showing um some more agricultural theme features so these are photoshopped so not not rendered completely um the seating walls would not be included and then the colored concrete would be a different surface so we are not recommending the um those puzzle piece what was it called life floor so that would be a different type of surface we're recommending a concrete surface we could color the concrete if there's a desire to have colored concrete and this is showing another view so this has that Loop hoop Loop feature and then um some of the individual agricultural theme features um so again considering what we received from the vendors things that we're evaluating is did they provide us with prompt uh iterations of the concepts and the equipment did they provide the play value for the budget that we asked them uh to provide um does design meet the goals of the play the playground and the splash pad um the overall value again the respons responsiveness and level of service and the quality of deliverables so go the next one for the playground again option A was provided by the vendor that gave us the earliest Concepts and did work with us to provide several iterations which is why it shows two Bridges because they got back to us several times and we asked them to add other Bridges so options B and C were provided later but they do still have a lot of the features that we asked for with the towers the swings and the agricultural them so are there any questions or comments on the playground Concepts so all of these are within the budget you gave them y I did not like option b okay I was going to say is anybody just drop in that one is anyone attached to option b yeah get easier my favorite thing in the whole deck was the um tractor that had the pull behind sections on option C I liked that too I thought that was really cool like I could see that being a very in that Tower like that that was like you know whether whether it could be either vendor a A or C but I this was the favorite thing my favorite thing I saw in the whole thing was the idea where is that located then the 2 to five oh okay in that Tower and I liked the tower too I liked that the to Tower was so tall and it had a slide that would be appropriate for older children not just younger children Tower and a or the tower and C to Tower and C yeah do you know how that compares to the towers that are at um French Lake Park those are humongous things is it that size about the same this one's said what 27 M I was just trying to get perspective cuz those are almost like intimidatingly huge towers that fr Park anyway I like that option C has like the track the big long tractor for little kids then you've got the midsized one for maybe eight-year-old maybe six to eight-year-old the mid the middle sized one and then you've got the big tall one for older kids so it kind of hits all of the target ages for anyone that would go to a park or even maybe some adults might want to go on that tall one I don't know and that bridge connecting them was NE like it's all connected yeah and like that there were different features on the tower too from like the chain to like Chain Lake Fence to like the fencing it just it had more visual things going on versus not that I didn't like a I think a is really cool too but I just didn't like that the slide wasn't as tall on that one and I do like that they had the feature on the the the wall in the back the incline wall they've got some features back there for like climbing on I don't know if I'm crazy about the colors but yeah C I really like but C was the one also I like up against like a Red Barn Building this is going to be a lot yeah there's 10 different colors going on there like that Tower should all be red but that's very attractive to a like that Tower would like draw kids can you change the colors yeah they said we could but it's a lot right it also yeah I like this one we want something that people are gonna like talk about like we've got to go to the cork Park you can't get it anywhere else and I love there's like a little windmill feature at the very top too that's kind of cool I like the look of Silo in option A but raise the slide up higher like that looks like a grain silo but that slide you go all the way to the top what I liked about C I like a to but what I liked about C is it's really different yeah it's like this looks like a farmyard which is cool too but like this kind of looks like a farmyard but it's sort of like there's like just more interest in it like if I was a little kid I'd be like this is so cool I want to go on the big tractor yeah I want to run over to I don't know what this little thing is but like the little structure it looks like a little mini Silo yes and I like that they had a slide maybe oh this one has a slide too they yeah the big swing set off to the side yeah was there was a brid was there a bridge on that one yeah between the two between those two but not off of the hill and off the little one the little one connects to the bridge to the for the that middle that tower that she's circling okay okay thank you and then I like the clim I should the other ones would do it too but I like the idea of those climbing structures up the up the slope yeah it's funny CU this one originally had zoo animals on it so now seeing it with farm animals is very shocking to me that's not how it first came through so over at Wildflower which which of those several pieces draws the most kids which is the main one and there's a nice little track that they can go around like climb around in a circle on it but they play tag and stuff up in that big one so you can go run up it go down the slide go back around go up on the slide go down around yeah I mean anytime it go to French park with the kids it was get to the top of the tower like that was so that's a big sale going to the top oh yeah yeah I think so but I like that this one you could see in there you can like loose kid that French like this one's a little more open they even put it as like a bullet transparent panels for good sight like that's yeah that's a good point I liked their considerations when I read through this too it was like that's my concern as well as where did they go are they in the tower came out the other side I if the colors can be changed and stuff cuz I mean visually just looking at that it's kind of likea I shocking to me but maybe you know kids like yeah that but to me it's like yeah I I agree it's a bit much but the left one is toned down that little one the right one they went they yeah put every color in what sounds like folks earling in towards option C [Applause] all right next one yeah have colors I guess can be changed but the structure itself I mean if you look at it close the colors are fine it's from a distance that it's kind of like what the heck happened and it's 2D so like it's hard to have all of those colors coming off of one page at you without yeah I mean if you look close I mean there's fencing and you know different mhm it's more abstract it's like an abstract Farm versus like a true traditional Farm [Applause] look but we don't know the answers to the questions you had up there if they were good to work with provided the good direction are we going on the wrong track or that like I said earlier option A that vendor provided us with the earliest concept and we worked with them over several iterations and they provide us and that's what we've been showing over the past several months um options B and C those vendors we reached out to early on they just never got back to us and then we finally said this is your last chance if you want to get us a concept and so then they did so so maybe give our ideas to option a vendor I mean yeah we could do that or we could move forward with option C if that's what you prefer but we could we could reach out to option A and ask another yeah tell them what we did like after the other one and yeah don't steal any ideas but you know raise your slide up pull behind tractor thing so if option A can make the tower as tall and make the slide a little more exciting and make the I again I the pull behind tractor thing is my the best thing I like in the whole deck was that for the little guys yeah that's really neat it just set the tone of the whole op a tractor first thing didn't add a few comp and even the stra the shade structures on C on that TR tractor are so cool yeah they have the big tarp or the yeah that shade something so is optionc see the prefer to me I worry if the the vendor took forever to get us this and it was zoo animals at first that we could run into trouble down the road like this is just a picture I see it differently I see it that they knew that this was going to be a long haul and they're like we're not going to spend all this time on this until we can get our final piece in but I don't know I would want them to spend time getting us our designs I will say I do think we received a different point of contact from option C recently and then we received moving forward oh that'll continue yeah we can find out can we is it a lot to continue down this road and say option C here's what we like let's see if we can make a few little changes option A here's what we want to see and see how they respond to that yeah could do or is that just unnecessary cost I mean it would be nice to select a vendor soon by the time we have 60% we should have a vendor selected and that would be February 13th yeah so we could bring it back in January during that meeting you don't necessarily have to be here I could just give you the give us feedback on how easy they are to work with yep can do that so we'll touch Gabby will touch vendors A and C uh and then we'll coordinate I'll report back during the January parks and trails meeting and then we'll make like kind of a final decision then is that going to work with your schedule can I make a comment on the splash pad next I'm trying to yep heti and yeah and are those same different vendors for the spash think that was my question different okay so B and B are same b b splash pad doesn't really work with option a playground but they partnered and option a splash bad works with option b playr so I don't I don't I'm not a fan of option b at all and I think it's just because I feel like it's just like I'm not sure like the rocks and then the little small farm man I don't know I like when I see it I think it'd be in my head I'm thinking it'd be so cool to see like okay we've got the farm thing Farm agricultural thing going how come we don't do like a corn a big corn stock that shoots water or I will remind you the nature was the top theme requested from the survey by far hands down okay so agriculture was also listed and not a big so you could still go in nature but do more plants like farming plants like flowers or big sunflower or big sunflower that'd be cool or maybe you do a bunch of different flowers maybe you do a Dalia and a sunflower and a that Sho water or something and you could do like a little landscaping flowers on the bottom or something I don't know it's like a little maze there's something that you go through I I just feel like I I just wasn't I think we could do something more creative with our splash Splash Pad Splash Pad of Maple Grove that's that doesn't have any above ground features right yeah I kind of like they have a lot of lighting and different JS so yeah we looked at theirs theirs was very expensive because of all the different Jets and lighting features that they have okay but yeah they can use that as a plaza when it's not yeah it's kind of nice and my kids love it too so I will say the survey reflected a combination of above and below ground fees true hands down by far over one or the other okay there is a potential that we could um put in the infrastructure for the above ground and just at the first build have it only the surface Jets and then decide later what those above are I really like the play table really good idea but I really I really like the spot that the kids could just play in the water too it turns into more than just a spot pad to like true someone they can actually oh like this activity center thing it is I almost think of it as like a separate field of like nature and things that you can [Applause] grow but I agree with you those Boulders seem very precarious option b seems option b seems like part of their seating I could have put that together option b I like the seats around it you said those weren't [Laughter] included yeah and we do have unfortunately the renderings are not matched but in the concepts the renderings that we did we do have the seat walls the boulder seat walls around the splash P okay great cuz yeah the other I think the other splash bed we thought was really cool we were in Omaha and they had like a river Splash bed with like a river through it so the kids rather than having this elevated table that they can play in more like a river that they could we looked at concepts for that early on which I really like but then you get into standing water so you have a different level oh okay code and requirements okay so it sounds like option A is preferred see if we can incorporate more of those Nature Flowers get a little more creative maybe sunflower cornstock dollia separate field of nature in quotes could be a big watering can that tips eventually yeah those are you know those are popular Tippy things they anticipate yeah what other questions do you for this so is option a preferred [Applause] vend limited information they're local too oh okay would they pretty responsive pretty easy to wor it I would say it's good but there's nothing that's like drawing me to it as no I special thing e was more a little bit I don't know why a is nice cuz it's a blank canvas that you can add to where be is just a busy mess let's throw some rocks here right some chickens that probably at all does something yeah okay I think keep keep it on yeah let's keep moving yeah we're coming up on 10 be mindful everyone so Regional Trail our plan right now is to install the boardwalk and at least do the rough grading for the entire Trail Corridor in phase one we are refining the budget and it's looking like our initial $900,000 budget for the Regional Trail will come down so there is a possibility that the full Trail could be built with the Three Rivers Park District funding that they're providing next year but we're still refining those numbers so again I said at a minimum we're looking at doing the rough grading for the trail which would be just the class five grapple bed for the trail um but it would be walkable yeah you could walk on it but it wouldn't be a paved surface and then the boardwalk in the Northwestern Corner would be built uh next one so highlighting the phase two amenities so these are items that we're not going to bid in this first phase and those would be uh the looking on the east side of the park there's some gravel parking areas around uh the ball fields um and 11 number 12 is the Three Rivers District trail head with paved parking that would be a later phase 13 The Pedestrian Crossing again that all depends on County Road coordination and um when the trail is fully built out uh 14 would be the amphitheater 15 uh the full buildup of the Regional Trail which again I just said might possibly be done in phase one but we're still working that out 16 is the tennis courts and then 17 is additional Outdoor Equipment storage in the the pin wheel and next slide is alternate items so the existing gravel trails that go through the pin wh right now we are including an alternate item to paint those trails with binous uh the playground container the third container with the zip lines we're showing that as an alternate item the sixth pickle ball quarts we have that as an alternate item um the expanded storage at the splash pad mechanical so just north of the splash pad there will be an outdoor mechanical building and uh we have an alternate to add outdoor storage to that for Park recreation use um the open a shelter behind the park building so that would just be picnic shelter over the patio that is an alternate item and then the trail on the east side of the Hill there next to the t- ball field that would be alternate as well so next slide uh this is our cost estimate so this is pretty similar to the cost estimate we showed you the last last time we presented this in is that October or September and uh we are still refining the cost the cost will definitely not go up based on the engineers estimate they will come down but we're um we're still showing this right now because we haven't fully refined all the costs so uh you can see below that second line are the alternate items which we have moved down and uh everything in the phase the top list phase one city Park improvements would be included in our base bid so so we don't have pick aall carts in the first they're an alternate so we're designing them and we'll bid them but it depends on what the pricing come comes in as whether or not we will go ahead and build that a pretty high priority item wasn't it for I thought it was too uhhuh and then I was can I ask a quick question didn't we at one point have basketball courts somewhere those were located within the ice rink there was discussion of having it be dual use so ice rink in the winter and then basketball in the summer okay um without moving the ice rinks yet there wouldn't be a purpose to put it into a used ice rink that's already seen a good amount of Life probably the nicest we so we aren't going to do basketball gotcha okay um and then pickle ball was number four on primary amenities it went playground Splash Pad park building pickle ball being over 20 below the park building and over 60 below the splash pad and 80 below the playground so while still important it was only more important to more important than the parking lot yeah that's the that's the one I would push on too that's where I would look at the parking lot size is the other one we could yeah there's a big cost in that parking lot that's the other one that we could play with if we needed to reduce somewhere but I don't know minimum size we need I think it's already maybe it's well I'm being sarcastic here but we if County Road 50 was only 30 m an hour we wouldn't need the turn linee so we are and we save the money we are working through a study with Stant oh and the county M and Stant will be submitting it pretty soon here as part of that they are recommending a speed limit reduction again and I was very excited to tell you guys that but again that's not a guarantee so take that how you can I'll keep you in the loop as I hear more but that is a request that we are a recommendation we're making I think city council saw this 9 million wanted was I don't it didn't sound like a big appetite to add more like pickle ball for what I was hearing from them they were already we trade the turn Lan for pickleball yes cuz everybody's going to be slowing down then that was that's I mean that's sort of my sense too is that we've got these alternates but boy based on the reaction of the council when when this was when they saw that number um it feels like we're going to get to set some priorities amongst the things that are not my on their alternate list to to do something that they would approve so um there could be some tough decisions Lan would help a lot yes the work session for Park financing is on February 13th so we'll probably get some feedback from that and then we'll have to figure out what to cut so goes the parking lot going to be going to be going to gravel all right so our plan um depending on what happens in the next couple months is we'll bid one package for the site work and bid the second package for the building because those are typically different trades so um that's the plan for the spring so we're looking to February 13th and in the meantime we'll reach out to vendors to more uh information on their through the rest of this because we are coming up by 10 o' uh so thanks team tomorrow uh so we appointed chairperson Christensen and vice chairperson Friedrich for 2024 um if you haven't heard Vice chairperson freedrick is going to the council after this meeting so start thinking about who you want to fill in these roles I'm not sure chairperson Christians do want it again now might be your time the vice chair R I might oh so just start thinking about that as we're moving forward um but you received regular updates a lot of review of plats uh developed a park standards document recommended approval of a bike racket at Wildflower toured the open space Park uh reviewed and provided recommendations on City Park you even did it tonight and recommended approval of semi Legacy uh as part of 2025 priorities I put together a few that I think I've heard over the years and what I think you guys would likely want to work on moving forward Diamond Lake Regional Trail so continuing to work with three rivers to develop that per The Cooperative agreement uh Park development so establishing more of a park system plan uh defining next steps financing and timelines for future Park projects and to be honest this one kind of comes alongside future Financial Obligations at the bottom defining those upcoming projects uh projecting upcoming Park dedication funds and then more specifically City Park remaster defining those costs and timelines further uh 90 and 100% designs construction documents um and then wayf finding because that goes hand inand with the developing of a park system making sure that people know where your parks are what the rules are the other signs and Monument signs that go along with that is there anything I missed from the things that you've done or the things that you'd like to do this isn't a high prior this is wonderful L you've been busy we've been we've been busy it's been a busy year trying to keep it realistic of like what I think we can accomplish and I think city park is a really big one and so I know that might not seem like a lot because it's just like four bullets there but think about how long it's taking us to get here that should be it's true yeah um when you on the on the on the this is really a minor point but um on your list of things that we've done I would I think it would be more impactful if we if we grouped them so that you had the all the like the all the the project reviews that we did together I think this might this may be more Chron logical it's entirely chronological agenda to to to put them think of the kind of the four or five big things that we work on and and put things in in those categories so that I think it all would fit together as a as a piece what I told the chair and the vice chair before this meeting was last week was the holiday toy and food drive and I was finishing up my Master's Degree so between those two things this is not the best packet i' produc I'll be the first I see so I I get it yes you could have just and you or you could have just written it up whatever you gave us and just I'll group it by topic when I give it to the council but if there's anything I'm missing I it look really good perfect then I'll I'll adjust it and group it by topic that does make a lot more sense in my opinion of and then you could use that it would be easy to copy and paste that stuff on next year too it wouldn't be if your world is like my world do that's what you do withi I never Cas um I don't need a motion necessarily feedback will be sufficient is everyone okay with this it's good L love it all right reports information planning project update where's that uh and council member Nichols has been off at this meeting since about 9:00 he's been what he's been logged off the meeting call him and tell him it's I don't know that I have his personal number all right any questions on this not that I can answer it all right parks recreation Trails update uh short and sweet of it you have all of it on your page but Park planning policy updates uh Park financing parks and trails Commission items and the holiday toy and food drive which you can see at the bottom there and yours truly is the one with the reindeer on thank you oh I wasn't looking up do it again I missed it I am so sorry oh yeah and how many pounds of food did you donate me personally no food I donated toys though um no but collected 1,51 pounds of food um plus there were a few checks and cash donations for that and then we estimated about $11,000 worth of toys which last year was 1,000 pounds of food and closer to $4,000 worth of toys um it's awesome wow good job this city incredible it was incredible this is one of my favorite events of the entire year even 19 night like this how does I say she says that about every I know here we're glad you're enjoying your job and doing such a good job at it everyone I talked was impressed of how big of a caravan that whole thing was like we have you think it's just going to be a couple police cars in this yeah they came in front of our in our house but it's like well I don't know how long how many vehicles and it was a huge long line of decorated lit up Vehicles it was cool North Memorial uh Handover West Suburban fire Rogers Fire PD City Public Works someone like it's pretty much anyone of Our Community Partners who wants to join in they're there that was aesome it's beautiful I love it anyways all right Garden Club report winter all right did you practice that although I will say now just just so you know I I start seeds that's one my one of my things and and I can the first batch of seeds have a 25 we lead so I can plant I should have planted those oh you're behind I'm behind I'm already behind because we we're we're only like 18 or 19 weeks from from seed planting to wow from outdoor dirty I like the thought of that okay good update awesome Park dedication fund any questions on that has not changed there no questions last ending balance as of 918 was about 5.2 million so we'll have some more coming in from T Vera right as those get pled I would have to look at the projected Park Dedication that we put together in couple me how many how many is eight I don't remember okay I'm in Community Development but not a planner just curious of how much more we can expect like to come into this fund from that development I guess is what my financing work session no which one you in January right no February February February 20th February 20th South Fork Creek dream restoration this is a maple this is It's a Maple Grove project that that I ran into because I'm still going to the Watershed meetings and it's right where we're 30 and 10 are intersecting mhm right there and that area has all been reworked and that's a Maple Grove project and the presentation that Derek Ash ashy gave it at the watered was just it was really impressive when he was sort of rushed through it but it's some cool stuff they it's it's several million dollar project but they got a lot of funding from outside to to do it and I thought you know that stream looks a lot like like the stream that runs through city park and I thought I we could show that to parks and trails you would I think it's it's a it's a nice nice show so I talk to him he'd be happy to come and do it he's going to come and do it February 20th yes he was leaning towards the earlier time so he'd prefer to do like a work session situation 6 to 6:45 uh I am doing it a little later because I know that we always have that gap between 6:30 and 7 and that's just kind of a struggle so that seemed to work for everyone the February 20th at six six yep I don't know about tomorrow so yeah sure okay good no other business or announcements so I will entertain a motion to
