There's just been a lot of momentum to think about how we can make our city more livable, more uh resilient to some of the increasing hazards like rain events and high temperature heat days. The community engagement portion or phase of the the climate action plan is really interactive both online and in person. So, we have an online survey that's out right now. There's also a climate storytelling like community project. So, that's the online portion. Um there's also documents that you can review in terms of our baseline assessments. Um and then the inperson will be two workshops that we have coming up. One on March 21st, one on May 23rd, and that's at city hall. And we will be talking about uh proposed goals and actions and get community input on those goals and actions. Also accepting new ones that we haven't thought of. The >> purpose of this is not to make more work. It's to think about how we can set up a future so that we're more resilient that our systems and processes serves reserve residents. >> Oh yeah, absolutely. exciting and satisfying and to be able to participate in a community level and something that's really going to impact lives at a community level. It's a good framework for the city and its operations but also how the city can support its community members in doing their individual actions. It unlocks funding mechanisms whether grant opportunities or or elsewhere um to implement those initiatives. Um so it's just an important document. It's a living document that the city and the community can use together. I think thinking about this as a domino to then unlocking a lot of subsequent dominoes that will empower people to feel like, oh, I do have the resources or there is a grant program to support me if I want to take steps um around some of these different initiatives. >> For more city stories, check out ccdia.org or find us on social media.
