If you are here because you are a timelimited SNAP recipient, you need to meet the work requirements to keep your SNAP benefits. We are here to help you navigate these work requirements. SNAP employment and training is a unique program that provides free employment education and support for those receiving SNAP benefits. SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, provides eligible residents with 3 months of food benefits every 36 months unless you meet an exemption. This means if you are a timelimited recipient, you must complete the work requirement to continue receiving your SNAP benefit past 3 months. This program's goal is to help you keep your food benefits and to help you reach your career goals. If you are a timelmited recipient, you must meet the work requirements to keep your SNAP benefits past 3 months. To keep your SNAP benefits active, you must meet the work requirement in your third month. If you do not complete the required hours in your third month, you will lose your benefits. How do you meet these work requirements? You must spend at least 80 hours per month doing one or a combination of the following. Working, participating in a job training or work program, and or volunteering. [snorts] There is a wide variety of training programs offered by providers. You could choose to start a new career path or return to one you have previously worked in. Programs like carpentry, construction, and IT offer hands-on components and internship opportunities. Others like medical office include training in medical and in billing and coding, but they also have comprehensive training in Microsoft. Providers can help you from beginning to end in your journey by helping you prepare for interviews and with your resume. They use a holistic approach to help you in obstacles that may have held you back in the past. This can include balancing work and life and creating and maintaining a budget. Support services are offered by some providers and are meant to help you succeed in your training or program. They can help you with things like work attire or uniforms, tools or technology that you need for training, transportation, and more. There are work exemptions in place. If you happen to meet any of them, it is very important that you contact someone at 6125963 0. Examples of some exemptions include if you may be pregnant, have a disability, are going to school, or even currently working. If you are coded in our system as not having an exemption, you will only receive the 3 months of SNAP benefits.
