Every two years, the city [0:06] conducts a survey to gather opinions [0:09] from a random sample of residents about [0:11] the quality of life here in Eden [0:13] Prairie. The survey is critical to [0:15] providing me and other city leaders with [0:18] a snapshot of how you Eden Prairie [0:21] residents feel about living here in our [0:23] community. It helps us identify current [0:26] and future needs so we can align the [0:29] city's priorities accordingly. I'm proud [0:31] that our latest quality of life survey [0:34] once again confirmed what so many of you [0:37] already know. Eden Prairie is an [0:40] exceptional place to live, work, and [0:44] dream. Over the next few minutes, I'll [0:46] share some highlights of the 2024 survey [0:50] results and the many ways in which our [0:53] city continues to lead the way. In 2024, [0:58] Eden Prairie residents reaffirm what [1:00] they've been saying for years, that Eden [1:03] Prairie is one of the best places to [1:05] live in America. An impressive 90% of [1:08] residents rated their overall quality of [1:10] life as excellent or good, putting Eden [1:13] Prairie ahead of other communities in [1:15] Minnesota and across the nation. From [1:18] peaceful neighborhoods and excellent [1:19] schools to vibrant community spaces and [1:22] a strong sense of belonging, Eden [1:25] Prairie is also a city that feels safe. [1:28] 93% of residents say they feel safe [1:30] overall. and our police services were [1:33] impressively ranked number three in the [1:35] nation and number one in Minnesota. [1:38] Emergency services, including fire and [1:40] emergency management, also earned top [1:43] ratings. [1:44] City services continue to impress. From [1:48] street repair to city planning, Eden [1:50] Prairie outpaces other cities across the [1:53] board and ranks number two among [1:55] Minnesota communities in the overall [1:58] quality of city services. Of the survey [2:00] respondents who contacted the city over [2:03] the last few years, nine in 10 gave top [2:07] marks for courtesy, responsiveness, [2:10] knowledge, and followup. Residents also [2:13] rated Eden Prairie's economic health is [2:15] strong. It's a great place to work, [2:18] build a business, and invest in the [2:20] future. The city's economic ratings [2:22] outshine communities both in Minnesota [2:25] and across the nation. What truly sets [2:28] Eden Prairie apart is its connection to [2:30] nature. 92% of residents rated the [2:33] natural environment as excellent or [2:35] good, making it the highest rated aspect [2:38] of community life. With top ranked [2:40] parks, natural areas, recreational [2:42] amenities, and over 200 m of trails, our [2:46] community enjoys one of the best park [2:49] systems around. Residents also gave Eden [2:52] Prairie top marks in Minnesota and the [2:54] nation in these specific areas.
