[0:01] For me, it's always been about the kids. [0:03] I've always really prided myself on my [0:06] ability to connect with kids and that's [0:09] really what brought me in and you know, [0:11] teaching became a vehicle just to [0:13] connect with kids. I'm definitely a [0:16] product of the Eden Parade school [0:17] system. I went to Forest Hills [0:19] Elementary, attended Central Middle [0:21] School, and I graduated from Eden [0:23] Prairie High School in the class of [0:24] 1991. [0:26] You know what brings me joy in my work [0:28] is that that look in a student's eye, [0:30] that smile on their face, you know, that [0:32] moment when they're really kind of [0:33] working through something new and the [0:35] light bulb goes off. You can see it when [0:37] it clicks. [0:39] It's the high fives, the handshakes, the [0:41] hugs. Those things are so meaningful to [0:45] me and really bring me joy. [0:49] Our mission of inspiring each student is [0:51] much more than just a nice looking [0:53] graphic that sits on the wall. You can [0:56] feel it when you walk through each of [0:58] our schools. And I've spent time in all [1:00] of our schools throughout my long [1:02] tenure. The level of care is is really [1:05] impressive. And it's not just the care [1:07] for the students, but the care the staff [1:10] show for each other. And that has to be [1:13] foundational for us to be successful in [1:15] our work. It's really that special [1:17] community that exists here at Eden Lake. [1:21] This idea of continuous learning is [1:23] central to our work in Eden Prairie [1:25] Schools. We're here to inspire each [1:27] student to learn continuously and it's [1:29] creating those conditions where people [1:31] have the trust, strong relationships, [1:33] and the vulnerability to do the hard [1:35] work that is required of deep learning. [1:38] This really is a worldclass organization [1:41] where we are definitely committed to [1:43] continuing to rethink what education [1:46] could and should look like. I'm Brett [1:48] Loben, proud principal of Eden Lake [1:50] Elementary, where we inspire each [1:52] student every day.
