[0:01] I can't wait to get to work. I like feel [0:03] I'm an educator to my core. So, just [0:05] being able to walk through the front [0:07] doors and seeing families and students [0:09] and staff um brings me joy. [0:12] What I love most about being a principal [0:14] is growing others. So, I have an [0:16] opportunity to come to work every day to [0:17] grow children and I also have an [0:19] opportunity to grow staff. My father's [0:22] an educator, my mother was a school [0:23] nurse. So, I had a lot of opportunity to [0:26] be around schools. As my children were [0:28] progressing in education, it gave me an [0:30] opportunity for me to go back to school [0:32] and get my teaching license. And so, I [0:34] taught as a kindergarten teacher, a [0:36] second grade teacher, and a fourth grade [0:38] teacher. Someone else gave me a tap on [0:39] the shoulder of the principal and just [0:40] said like, I think you'd be a really [0:41] good administrator. So, again, went [0:43] back, got my master's degree, got my [0:44] principal license, and I have been in [0:47] administration um starting my 15th year [0:49] and very excited to be part of Eden [0:51] Prairie Schools. [0:53] My role is creating a culture that's [0:57] joyful and that where people, students [0:59] and staff and community, their families [1:01] want to be every day. Um, where they [1:03] feel academic success because we know [1:04] academic success opens doors. Um, and [1:07] that they know that everybody's welcome. [1:10] I have been drawn to Eden Perry schools [1:13] primarily for the diverse student body. [1:16] I think it's important for students to [1:17] see themselves in school every day. Oak [1:19] Point is a place where your child will [1:22] succeed, where your child will feel that [1:24] they belong, where your child will feel [1:26] joy, and they will have academic [1:28] success. I'm Theresa Marty, the proud [1:30] principal of Oakpoint Elementary, where [1:32] we inspire each student every day.
