The Edina City Council approved a conditional use permit, including a height variance, for the new Tactical training building at the South Metro Public Safety Training Facility. This facility will significantly enhance training capabilities for law enforcement and public safety personnel by simulating diverse environments like residential and commercial properties, and allowing for various training scenarios including building searches, use of force techniques, and traffic enforcement. The building will be utilized by owner agencies Edina, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, and the Metropolitan airports commission, and rented to other local and federal agencies.
