would that be explained to me what the pyramid model is

the pyramid model is um the framework that we adopted four years ago it's a five-year grant that we had applied for and our year four of your five and the pyramid model is really a framework that we use to help build kids social and emotional skills as learners and it helps kids if you it helps kids sort of advocate for their needs what they want their concerns articulate if they want to play and pyramid is really how we teach our staff and then their how therefore how our staff interacts with kiddos on how you sort of work through social emotional relationships and exchanges

in my terminology it's a it's a structured way to socialize kids to how to behave in a school context integrating their own emotions into the classroom experience

creative curriculum is the um curriculum that goes with tsg so that's really exciting if you think about a teacher who has who has used an assessment for a number of years and really found an ability to have fidelity with that and now to have the curriculum really complement that so we feel really strongly that this implementation is going to go pretty easily for our staff because they already have that assessment piece under their belt and they sort of have that mindset of how we implement a curriculum through the pyramid work that they've all been doing for four years

does this curriculum and the objectives of this curriculum then basically built into the curriculum that we're using in elementary school even so far as using similar terminology and and things like that so we're literally it's a ladder that we're building our students up

it absolutely does that's how we found our way there that was step one and it also helps make the case for the partnership that liz has with the district literacy coaches right because that's a conversation we always want to be having and the partnership that we have with the kindergarten teachers about okay yeah you know that's about concepts about print what does that mean about concepts about print or shared writing or shared reading or any of those emergent literacy things because that's a really important point that we want to make sure that kiddos are hearing the same language as they're going through the larger system on their skills

it sounds like the development of this curriculum was handled with great intention and a comprehensive process down to the last detail I have no questions or concerns

there are four components of the materials and one of the four is parent engagement materials so it's all family-facing resources

does that translate into encouragement encouraging the parents or caretakers to read say half an hour to the children every day because that's often cited as a very useful skill very useful practice for helping kids to develop early literacy and reading and extending ways to read with them so some some learning and what does that look like to read with you here what could it look like
