Thank you. Um, as you know, our current city manager, Scott Neil, is going to be retiring on January 8th of 2027. And so, over the past couple months, we've really been on a journey trying to find our new leader. Um, and very excited tonight to be able to introduce the you to the community to to Lori, who is going to be our new city manager.

We had a community survey that went out to the public. Um we had over 150 community respondents that gave uh feedback on what they were looking for in their new city manager. We also had about 40ome staff members that also participated in the process... that combined along with your guys's feedback of you know working day-to-day with the position of what you were all looking for into a profile that went through the comm uh the in the recruitment process.

I have about 20 years of local government experience. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in public administration. Uh, started my career, uh, as the assistant city manager in Chanhassen. Left there to become a city manager in Victoria. went to work and experienced what it's like to work in a larger community in Plymouth as the administrative services director and then about six years ago had the opportunity to go back to the city of Chanhassen as the city manager.

However, there is a mention of us um funding memberships uh and the Adina Chamber of Commerce is specifically mentioned under civic club membership item number nine. I have a concern about that. I've been trying to do research quickly because this came out on Friday and I am concerned about municipal governments um paying for private memberships and the implications of that.

what I can say is that the contract that we have today um really mirrors with a few changes the current contract that um manager Neil has. And so um we made a few changes in there. Uh but what I would would say is if there are issues or concerns that are raised, we will definitely u look into that.

the civic portion of your contract is intended to make sure that people that work at the city are involved in the community they they don't necessarily live in, but they work in. So, it's not just a chamber. It's, you know, if you wanted to join the Rotary Club or the Lions Club or some other clubs, we want to make sure that we give you that opportunity from the chamber standpoint that really the city has a membership... the way the board is structured at the chamber of commerce, it's city manager, mayor, and the superintendent of schools serving on an exofficial basis uh on the chamber board.
