## Vision for Edina Public Schools: Investing in Our Future
## A Roadmap for Infrastructure and Student Support
As Edina Public Schools look toward the future, the District is committed to
ensuring that our Safety & Security systems and structures, facilities and
staffing levels align with the evolving needs of our students and community.
This plan outlines a potential roadmap for infrastructure enhancements and
operational sustainability to be considered in a Spring 2027 referendum.
Our vision focuses on four key pillars:
● Safety and Security: A dedicated investment of $13 to $15 million in
infrastructure recommendations and expanded staffing for
cybersecurity and student behavioral support.
● Expanded Learning Spaces: Addressing community needs related to
early learning programming, childcare, community space and current,
limited student capacity through a new Early Learning Center, additions
at Edina High School, South View, and Valley View Middle Schools, and
new flexible learning spaces at Creek Valley.
● Modernized Facilities: Completing planned improvements at Concord
and updating facilities at Kuhlman Stadium to enhance safety, better
serving students and visitors.
● Operational Sustainability: Exploring land acquisition for a new Early
Learning Family Center and a technology levy increase to sustain future
safety-related staff, infrastructure, and hardware/software needs.

● Estimated Monthly Tax Impact: Between $23 and $41 per month for a
median household depending on projects included.
Note on Financial Estimates: These figures are conservative estimates as of
April 2026. Final tax impacts will fluctuate based on the final project scope
chosen by the Board and final property tax values determined by Hennepin
County.
## Next Steps
The School Board is currently reviewing these proposals to determine which
projects are realistically achievable within our proposed timeline. A final
decision regarding the official referendum scope and date (proposed for April
or May 2027) is expected by December 2026.
