[Music] the Opus group a prominent developer is looking to move its headquarters and they might be setting their sights on Aina Opus is proposing to tear down the four story office building at 5100 Eden Avenue and build a new 112,000 Square ft five-story office building that would potentially include a restaurant or retail space on the first floor Opus corporate headquarters would occupy a portion of the building Opus presented a sketch last month to the Edina City Council Members gave non-binding feedback on the project we think this uh site is uniquely suited to office development and given the the recent residential development in this area we think balancing that with an office use which puts daytime users in the area who can also be uh patronizes of the local businesses uh we think it's just going to make this a much more vibrant um uh mixed use node to move forward Opus would need to request a resoning of the site variances or flexibility through a planned unit development and a site plan and subdivision or replant Opus plan replaces a previous proposal for an apartment building and retail space on the site that plan received preliminary approval approval in 2023
